Henrie and Gandy
Hi Debbie...I just sent you an email and I hope you get it. I saw your memorials on Find A Grave and I am wondering is you know who Daniel Henrie's parents are. Robert Gardner and Sarah Henrie are my 2nd gr grandparents.
Also, I noticed that you are interested in searching the Fly family. My 3rd gr grandmother is Sarah Elizabeth Fly. They are in Tennessee but came from North Carolina. The name is so unusual that I am hoping we are related. I would be very happy to share all my information with you. Please contact me at my email address, which is

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 116734225
There must have been two Oliver Calvin Morningstars because the death certificate on the one you referred to is not the same as the one who was linked on this memorial. I've unlinked him and posted a comment on the memorial. Although I created the memorial I didn't do the links. I'm not related to this family.

Your memorial for this person was a duplicate of one I had made in 2007, which someone had pointed out to me. Please check for duplicates when you add a memorial in the future. I did add the photo of the marker that I had to your memorial and will delete mine, although normally I would wish to have you delete yours since mine was older. Thanks for helping make Findagrave a better place.

Gertie Morton
Thanks for your suggestion of Gertie's husbands, but I had already linked her husbands to her memorial. I just don't know the name of her last husband before she died. She was married to a man with a the last name of Morton. I did revise her Bio, explaining that. Are you related to Gertie in some way? She was my great grand aunt.

Thanks, I'll send it in for deletion. I am checking each memorial in Cherokee County for the dupes the contributor added, but have not got to the Gandy cemetery as yet. That will be several months down the road!

Yes, I know it is and I have sent it to Find A Grave for deletion. It will take 2 to 3 weeks for them to merge it, then the stone will be on the original.

Elias Dawes Jr
Thanks for posting this. Elias Sr is my ancestor through his daughter Maria Eliase Daas born 1659. I'm trying to determine whether Elias Sr is the father or grandfather of Rebecca (b.1673), Patience (b.c.1675) & Annetje/Hannah (b.c.1677)who are found in baptism records of Flatbush NY in 1681. It seems unlikely that Elias Jr was the son of Elias Sr (b 1634) and Patience (b.1638) since he parents would only be 16 and 12 years old respectively. Do you know of any documentation about Elias Jr. that would support this? Some researchers say Elias did not have any sons. Maybe Elias Sr. had Maria with his first wife and the later 3 daughters with his second wife. What does everyone think?

RE: Margaret Prisse
Thanks for responding to me about the Prisse/Brown name.

She is my 7th GGM also and I've been trying to find the answer as well. It is just so strange that she is mixed in with the Browne family...and her maiden name is Prisse...and it seems like most trees have the same thing...but no explanation for the difference.

At first I thought she might have been a Browne, but first married a Prisse who died...and then she married Jeremiah; hence her last name would have been her first husband's last name (Prisse) when she married Jeremiah. I have not found anything to support that theory.

Then I though that might have been adopted by the Browns or a child whose parents had died and was "taken in" by them....but I just haven't found a thing to support that theor either.

Maybe a short blurb in her bio with something like "There has not yet been discovered an explanation why her last name is listed as "Prisse" when the rest of her family is listed as Brown" might spur someone else to notice the discrepancy and research it along with us. Gosh the difference is just so obvious to me. I'd be happy to share everything as well...but in this case, I have more questions than answers. ~~~Twig

You've attached a photo but it's not possible as photography wasn't invented until 1827

Thanks very much for transferring Mattie's page to me. I will be adding the results of my research there as soon as we return from our trip. Your creating the page made it possible for me to discover her story so it can be filled out more completely.

Sorry about the empty message. Hit return instead of tab. Anyway as follow up to previous message, I was not the one who made the links to family members. Those are the people you need to be talking to. My information concerning the identity of the person I listed is correct as far as I can see. The family links appear to be erroneous.
