BARNES Reuben H.
I have been doing a timeline on Rubin's family. His father was Elijah Barnes. At the time of Rubin's birth they were in Athens cO.. Ohio.

Please share how you arrived at Athens Co., Menard County, Illinois, USA

The informant had it partially correct on the DC. Usually the farther away from the event (birth info) the more likely errors can occur as memories fade. If I am wrong please let me know.

Thank you

Lonzo roberts obit
I sent you a very long obit for Lonzo Roberts. It may be too long to attach to his memorial page and maybe too detailed for this tragic death. Since you say you are on the cemetery board, this might be one to print off and attach to his cemetery record in case a family member would want more details of his demise.

In my June 27th message to you, that should be Nancy J., not Mary J. She and James Atkeson are your memorials #53228114 and 53228089. I was hoping you might have some information about them? Thank you.

Mary J. and James Atkeson
Do you have any information about either of them? Trying to link them as parents of John David, William, Martha, Sarah and Elizabeth, born 1830 to 1842. At least John David lived in the Moniteau County, MO area. Thank you.

RE: Dark family
Sorry for late reply. Lots of life going on. My great great grandfather was Micajah Dark. He had two wives, Elizabeth Dudley, and my GG. Grandmother Nancy Ellen Dunlap Guinn Dark. That is my direct line. There are many others, but not direct line.

I am not descended from Samuel, the start of the WV line of Lydicks but do have some contacts that are, and might have that information. I do see that he married Alcinda Briggs when he was almost 27 so he could have had a previous marriage. I will ask for you.

RE: Dark family

I am in a direct line to Micajah Dark, He was my gg grandfather. My paternal great grandmother was Martha Jane Dark and my grandmother kept many documents and loved telling some great stories! If you let me know your husband's Dark relatives, I can likely tell you the connection and would be happy to provide GEDCOM files or an invitation to my files.

I will have to revisit the "unconnected" Find-a-Grave family so they can be tied together. On first look, I note there are not nearly all the "children" of particular parents and I'm not sure how to add those individuals if I don't know exactly where they are buried, though I know this can be done. Micajah Dark was added without a cemetery. I can fill in a lot of blanks, but have no idea how to affect that. I know where they have died, but if their tombstones are destroyed and records poorly can be difficult to put an exact location.

Let me know how I can help you or how I can add family, and I'll be happy to do that. Thank you for your reply!

Vicki Leavy
Great great granddaughter of Micajah Dark, great granddaughter of Martha Jane Dark. Author of The Families Dark and Guinn, located in the St. Clair County Museum.

PS. an album with over 100 photos of Dark family members, many historic, was found in Lee's Summit, MO, at an estate sale. (a great find by a non-family member) I have posted those photos online. It is of the extended Dark family in Missouri, Kansas, Washington, Oregon, and others.

Dark family

I know this is a big job for you. I can provide you with a list of the 10 children of Permilia Angelina Dark (surname Parks) and William Horace Dark. This is my family. I also have many photos. I've not been able to figure out how to "tie" the family together. There are others that are not "connected."

Thanks for whatever information you can provide or if you would like for me to provide this info to you. Interestingly, I vacationed in Lake Chelan, but had no idea at that time that I had several relatives buried in the cemetery there. :D

Have a great day!
