 | Irma I have transfer her to you. I do not have her in our family tree at this time.
One of my Epps family lines married a Buchanan, so I add names when I find them who knows they might connect later, however I transfer to people who are related.

 | Ella or Alla Sorry this took me so long.... I uploaded the photo for Ella M. Windust but she is listed as "Alla" M. Let me know if that's not correct, but there is no "Ella" listed in the Dayton cemetery, so I'm thinking this stone belongs to Ella, not Alla.
Hope THAT made sense! lol

 | James E. & Nellie Irvin Thanks for the great headstone photos. Their son Phillip and his wife Wanda Irvin should be buried close to James and Nellie. Next time you are taking pictures at Ebenezer Cemetery, it would be wonderful to have their headstone pictures too, if you happen across them. Thanks a million. | Mida I found a simple granite marker with just the name "MIDA" on it. It was close by Ella Windust. I think this must be the Mida Windust you are looking for. If it is, I'm happy to post the photo.

 | RE: Alice Patton Yes!! You found it Wendy! The Jefferson County ILGenWeb page has a listing of burials with photos. The Alice Patton photograph is for the wrong one here on Find A Grave. I think you're right, George probably married the other Alice after his first wife died.
I can check the Marion County marriages at the Centralia Library to see if there is a Turkington/Patton marriage.
I have the obituary for Alice Ann (Turkington) Patton from the Centralia Sentinel. I can email it to you if you would like it. I did not get George's since I did not have his death date until now but I will look that one up tomorrow or Friday.
FYI, Ed Turkington married Mildred McNeil. I found an obituary online in the Mt. Vernon Register for their son Daniel Turkington.
Awesome, thanks for your insight! If you would like, you can email me at sfpdcapt9104@yahoo.com.

 | Alice Patton macklin, I'm hoping you can clear up some confusion for me. I'm tracking down my ggg grand aunt Elizabeth Adaline (Allen) Smith. I believe her daughter was Alice Ann Smith who married Sam Turkington on 26 May 1876. Samuel died 6 Mar 1902. I believe Alice then married a George Patton. I have the obituary for Elizabeth Adaline and at some point before she died her last name became Gibson. No idea when or who, can't find any records for that. I found her in the 1920 census living with George and Alice Patton and Ed Turkington. I looked up Alice Ann Patton's obituary and it has her as Alice Ann (Turkington) Patton. She died 18 Oct 1938 (confirmed in Illinois Statewide Death Records) south of Walnut Hill and was 79 yr, 10 mo, and 26 days and buried in Little Grove. No other family members mentioned. Alice Patton's death record on Family Search states her father was a John Smith (it would actually have been William N Smith) but mother listed unknown. She was born "near Carlyle, IL" (would actually have been Brookside Township west of Centralia). Now, George Patton married an Alice P Fouts on 18 Sep 1873 in Marion County and you have her parents listed as Fouts. The Alice Patton in Little Grove shows her death as 21 Oct 1938 but the Illinois records, Family Search, and the obituary have 18 Oct 1938. Could there been another George that married Alice P Fouts? Could Alice Fouts have died shortly after her marriage to George Patton who then married Alice Ann (Smith) Turkington? I've got a mess.
Any suggestions?Added by Chad on Jul 27, 2011 12:47 PM | |
