RE: Lyman Evans
John,

I don't recall if I answered you or not. Too many irons in the fire!! No, I don't have any additional info at this time. I am researching CW soldiers who died at Camp Joe Holt/Jefferson CW Hospital and who were not able to be buried at home. After I finish that project, I plan to go back and add pictures and history as I can.

RE: Bryant/Briant
Hello John;
I thank you much for this reply. Not long after I send this message I made another search on Find A Grave for Delilah and someone had just a couple of weeks before posted a memorial page on Find A Grave for this lady!!.. She is buried in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines ...
Find A Grave Memorial# 128303681. I requested transfer of this memorial and the lady most graciously granted this. Have updated with information that I currently have. Now there is only one more sibling in this group to locate. I know that youngest, Margaret Emily, married and moved to Oklahoma. But cannot yet find where buried.
Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Br;yant/Briant
John;
I read your bio that you are interested in Bryant names. I also see that you have posted pictures to some John Terrill Briant children memorial pages. Maybe this means that you are related to this line?
If so, I would like to get make contact with you. John Terrill Briant was sibling of my ggrandmother, Nancy Ellen. I am working on a project to link all of these children and am missing information on one that lived in Iowa, Delilah Melvina.
If you have any information for this lady to share it will be so much appreciated.
Regards

Thanks, John---I wanted to be sure to leave a flower token on his actual birthday, so I am glad to have that cleared up!

Lee Creighton
John,

Thought you would like to know that your cousin Judge Lee Creighton has a memorial on findagrave at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=104016832

Elaine Schrock, who personally knew Lee and his family currently owns his memorial and wouldn't mind transferring the memorial over to family members. Would you be interested in having the memorial transferred to you? I don't know if any of Lee's immediate family uses findagrave.

Oliver/Nashville
John,

I hope there is not a problem with Oliver Evans. He was not located as you listed at B 5653, But at B 5655. There are 2 Oliver Evans with death date of 1863 ( O.M. & Oliver) I noted that Oliver's stone lists a State not mentioned in his data. Let me know if there is a problem that i could help correcting?

RE: Maj. Huckstep
John, when I noticed that the Major had sacrificed his life just a month before I was born, it somehow brought it home to me just what so many men and women have sacrificed so that I might grow up in a free country. Sponsoring his memorial seemed a small repayment for what he did for me!

My Dad, husband, and 3 brothers are all veterans.

JB-Not sure exactly which photos I'ld need at this point, but will definetely figure it out down the road and keep you posted. Thanks a bunch for the offer. Interesting to know about your grandfather's headstone there. I imagine there are alot of cases like that all over the U.S., but probably never get taken care of in time. Nice you have family that cared to make it right again. I'm sorry, but I'm a few hundred miles away from Creighton's headstone, although I do have 3 relatives that are buried also in Spokane. I may have to put in a request for their photos, but if I decide to make a trip there myself, will give you a shout out in advance. What's funny is, I know I ran across that name a few mths ago, when I was looking at censuses for my relation and for some reason thought they might be related. Dang, will keep an eye out for it again. Also, I read Creighton's bio. and saw his mother's name, Seidel, is same as guy my husband knows. Have a fun weekend.

Hi JB, I've been doing Roe/Meader genealogy and several other lines for 35 yrs.. Charles & Catharine(Runyan)Roe had a son, John (my Gt-grandfather), who married Rebecca Meader. You may know that Rebecca's parents Valentine & Sarah Meader(another set of Gt-Gt-grandparents), are buried in Hopkins Grove Cemetery also. I have Sarah Meader's memorial page, but not Valentine's. John & Rebecca (Meader) Roe had 7 children in Iowa, including my grandfather. Without looking at my paperwork, John & Rebecca & family headed west around 1881-1884. Their 8th child was born in Nebraska. Then they continued to the Pacific Northwest so no, I'm not from Iowa, I almost was :-) I have so many ties to Iowa and have been researching these people for so long that I feel like I've met them. My husband and I made a genealogy road trip several years ago and made many stops in Boone, Emmett & Johnson Cos.(Des Moines too), but for the life of me, I don't know why we didn't go to Hopkins Grove Cem.. You sound like you know the Roe families quite well there. Are you related? I started our Roe/Meader family reunion out here when I was a teenager and organized it for a good 20 yrs.. Usually had around 100 show up. I was writing to some Roe relatives in Iowa at one point and sent copies of unidentified photos that I felt were from the Roe side. Sure enough they had practically the exact picture and were able to identify people for me. Anyway, thanks again for filling me in on your nice headstone photos. Wondered how you did it. Sometime in the future, would you be willing to take more for me at the cemetery? I better close this book. Take Care.
