Birmingham Friends South
Hello, I see you have added Benjamin Sharpless died 1852 in Birmingham Friends South. Those that died before 1874 probably belong in Birmingham Lafayette 1/4 mile down the road. This Cemetery was established in 1874.

Thanks, Terry

Sarah Ann Mozley Turner
There has been census material and other evidence that Sarah Ann Mozley Turner did not die in Georgia about 1860. She went with some of her children to Nixon Chapel, Marshall Co., AL. She is found in the 1880 census living with her daughter Willie Emma Turner who married aStephen Nixon, son of Francis Marion Nixon, for whom Nixon Chapel, Marshall Co., AL, was named for. She was not found anywhere in the 1900 census, so it is likely that she died between 1880 and 1900 in Alabama. Stephen and Willie Nixon moved to Okfuskee Co., OK by 1920.

Therefore, Sarah Ann Turner is most likely NOT buried here. I don't have an explanation for the Mary Ann Turner who received a child's portion of Elizabeth Bankston Mozley's estate. Benjamin Turner appeared to be quite affluent, so his widow and children should have been well provided for. I have not found a Mary Ann in the Benjamin Turner household at any time.

Thank you
Mona Herrin

Also, given as how you mixed up sisters Catherine and Margaret, could you make sure that the photo you added is actually a photo of Catherine and not her sister?

Hi there,
Not born in Brattleboro, born in Danby

Name on birth record is Katie, on stone Catherine. Her first name is not given as Margaret.

And no marriage, you are no doubt referring to

who was her sister

not her.
This is why I double check anything sent to me. Please make sure your info is right before you send it, it took me 5 minutes to figure this out using easily available vital records.

I'm very happy to do what I can... I will be in St Thomas' Cemetery again today for an hour or so.

My error. You created the one for Wilson Dumm as well.

Please consider deleting.

Thank you.

Added by cleemiller on May 28, 2015 7:13 AM

It was my pleasure.

But, if you look at the stone, the spelling of the last name is Dumn not Dumm.

There are already listings for Wilson and Anna Dumn.

Please consider deleting the memorial that you created for Anna.

I will request that the one for Wilson be deleted as well.

Thank you.

RE: Ray Watters
You're very welcome. Did you notice the temporary marker to the left for his wife, Dolores L Watters? Looks like she died the day after Christmas so her inscription was not yet there on the back of the marker. I will take a photo of hers when I see it but if I forget would you please remind me if it's not yet up in the Spring?

Vivian ( Cleo) Padgett
I just took the photo for Cleo Padgett and noticed there are two wives one as Cleo and the other Vivian. I called the office and they looked up the plot number and it is listed as Vivian (Cleo) Padgett. I also asked for her date of birth and it is August 29, 1918. I hope this helps. I tried to edit name and birth but it said it had edits pending. Good luck

I took a photo of the tombstone of his 3rd wife, Sarah Oliver, but then I saw the date and name was different from the one you asked for. So I created a new memorial for her. Let me know if you want me to transfer the one I created to you. If it is the same person, you can delete the one you made. I also have lots of family info on him as I am related. I am happy to share. This line goes back to Abraham Iverson, Burgess of Glocester, VA.

Photo Requests for Fernwood Cemetery
We have a group of volunteers heading out to Fernwood Cemetery on the 23rd of Nov to fulfill many photo requests. We would gladly fulfill your requests if you be so kind in calling the Cemetery and obtaining the plot location for us.

Thanks in advance,

Catherine Beatrice Thompson
Catherine's name was not added to the grave marker of her husband, William (it does not appear to be designed to hold two names.) I added an updated photograph of William's marker to the Lakewood Memorial Gardens website via FindAGrave. You may want to check with the cemetery office to determine if Catherine has a marker. I could not find one, and there are open spaces around William Thompson, so she may be buried nearby. The office was closed by the time I finished photographing requests, and I do not live locally, so someone else may be able to follow up.

RE: Pauline Mason
Not a problem. I probably should have just added the grass photo to begin with. Too bad she didn't have a stone but at least the others you requested did. :)
