I just wanted to say thank you for posting the photo of the marker at Kendrick Ridge in Grayson County VA. I just learned this morning that JB Young is my second great-grandfather. I am so happy to have this photo to print out and give my father, John W Young, son of Cora Owens (d.1955) and Starlen E Young (d, 1950) of Lee County.

I have been running across your name frequently while doing my family tree research. Are you related to either of these families. If so, I would love to hear from you - please feel free to email me.

Nice to hear back from you. It's my greatgrandmother and gggrandfather. Also, his son-in-law, Edwin, an inventor. And Seymour Phipps. I got curious who HE was and discovered not only that he was murdered by a cousin, but the murderer got a governor's pardon and out of prison after 4 years of a 14 year sentence by a convoluted series of scams revealed only in distant newspapers and via lot of digging. Not a single word appears in newrivernotes about it. I'm still not sure why they snuck the murder victim into a remote cemetery, but the papers mentioned riots and lynch mobs so it may be they were just trying to calm everyone down. I'm related to all of them:)
I saw the part about the students. Thanks for the info.
I don't want the transfer, but thanks for the offer.

First, thanks for posting the information. These are my direct ancestors. No one in the family knew their whereabouts. Fascinating. I'm curious how you knew the cemetery was there. My daughter stopped by on a trip and couldn't find it. Went up and down the road, asked a local: no one knew. She had planned to use her phone and your directions, but no signal. So, I'm intrigued you ever found it yourself way up on that ridge. Thanks again.

Good morning. I was wondering if you would transfer management of this memorial to me. William was my Grand Uncle and I would like to be able to add to his memorial and link him to the rest of the family. Thank you - Jeff

Dear Gary: I believe I have "found" Charles' parents, Giles and Esther Austin Gaylord. I am researching the Riggs surname and connected with a gentleman who took pictures of some Riggs headstones for me in CT. Included was a picture of a Gaylord headstone which I have determined a female Gaylord married a Riggs. Today I have been trying to connect the dots and create memorials for them and came across Charles' death information in FamilySearch. Check Find A Grave memorial 118413167 (Giles Gaylord) and see if you don't agree. I hope I have been able to help with your research. Pam Jackson

|Jerry Conklin||Julia Miranda Snook Butts|
I was doing some family research and came across your memorial. I'm not sure how to say it but I think you have the son listed as the father. W.D. Butts on the headstone stands for William David Butts and he is buried in California some place. J.M. Butts stands for Julia Miranda Butts maiden name Snook. She is buried in Yakima, WA. Julias father was John Snook and her mother was a Julia Ann Burnham Snook. Julia Ann Snook married Alexander Chisholm when John Snook died. I guess I'm trying to let you know that Sydny Butts is the son of Julia Butts not the other way around. The birth years might help you. I do not know where John Snook is buried yet I I would give that information to you. Hope this helps. Mary
Gary Mary sent this to me but can you check Julia and see if she any posting on hers I can't clear the Children. Thanks Jerry
