|Gerald "Jerry" Hobson||RE: Wright, Goff, Garrison Connection|
You contacted me in May of 2010 just as or just after my computer crashed. Are you still reachable, and would you be willing to share John Wright and Rachel Garrison's descendants with me? It's a possibility that Stephen Garrison is my ancestor on my mother's side, along with the Goffs. My gggrandfather was James Garrison (1777 - 18542) who married Hannah Wright (1776 - 1834) on October 4, 1796 in Salem County, NJ. I do not know Hannah's ancestry.

I would love to talk with you. How do I get you my e-mail address without putting it online for everyone to see? The relationships with the Barriers and the Daniels in Neshoba Co. are very intermingled.

Who are the William and Katherine that took care of Lucinda Barrier Ford's children after her death? I think Lucinda was the sister of my ggrandmother, Nellie Ann Barrier Daniel and I think that Albert Ford's 1st wife, Ida, was the widow of Nellie Ann's brother, C.A. (Charley) Barrier.

These stone are in the woods and I only saw 3. There could possibly be unmarked graves. But I have no knowledge of them.

I am also very grateful for those who serve and have served our country and take as many of them and post them that I can. I want all of us to always remember and honor the sacrifice they made for our country. If you are in need of any other Thaggard's in Altus, I would be happy to help you. I treasure the Thaggard family here that I know. Great people!

No, Susan...I am not. I did work with John Thaggard at the hospital in Altus, Ok and he was a very dear friend. I was searching for another grave the day I saw the Thaggard plot and just decided to take a pic of it in case there was not one on the site. I just recently started volunteering for the site and have found it to be very interesting and rewarding. Best of luck with your family history...there are many Thaggards at the Altus cemetery.

I do not know anything about the man or his line. I used to travel a great deal and would make photos and record info and post it whether I knew the people or not.

I don't know, the only info I have was the cemetery listing online so perhaps the 1928 was the death date??

why don't you just add him to this same cemetery, if you find he is in another cemetery later, you can move the memorial

|Sue Andrews||RE: Robert Culberston|
I used the Alabama information you sent and found a US Land Grant for a Porter Culbertson signed October 1835. The land was granted in Sumpter County, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I assusme this is the same Porter Culbertson who is the brother of James Culbertson and your relative. The grant may have been for military service.
Hope this helps. Sue Andrews

I am related to Robert Culbertson from two family lines. (His son) James Culbertson and wife Nancy Babb had a daughter Edney Culbertson who married a Wilson Cooper in Laurens, SC. She would be your Porter Culbertson's sister(if this is your descendant.) I have some documentation on this family line to the Cooper's of Laurens County. I am still working on these connections.
There is also another link in my family to Robert Culbertson, but this one is a weaker link. Robert and his second wife, Dolly Pleasant had a daughter Sarah Culbertson. She married a Jacob Elledge. This part is verified. I believe that they had a daughter Martha S. Elledge who married into this same Cooper family to Edney Culbertson's son, Young James Cooper. The piece that I am having difficulty verifying is that Msrtha Sue Elledge is the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Culbertson. Young James and Martha Sue Cooperare my 2nd generation great grand parents.
At any rate, I looked in my files and I found that Porter Culbertson born in 1792 has very little information connected to him. I did see one reference that indicated he died in France? Could this be connected to war?
If I can research for you any further, please let me know. I have a great deal of information posted in Ancestry. It is a public tree so anyone can view the information.
Take care. Sue Ellen Andrews

Hi Susan, I was showing my aunt the pictures you posted of Elva. She is a grandaughter of Elva's. She remembers your Dad real well and would like to write to you, she doesen't have a computer so maybe I can send you her address or you can send yours to me and I'll give it to her.

Those photos are great. Thank you so much for adding them. I don't have a lot of info. myself.Did Elva and William have more children than just Eva? That's all that I know of. My aunt told me Eva died in 1918 of the flu. I think William and Charles were first cousins. Did you know Charles Pennell left for Chicago to find work and was never heard from again?

Thank you so much for adding the photo. I've never seen a photo of her. My Grandmother, Nancy Elva Pennell Davis was her granddaughter but never talked about her much, so I know very little about her. If you have any info. you would like to add just let me know. Thank you again!!!
