Back in the 70's our Historical Society began researching all pioneer families from our area. I have information on John Council, his three marriages and the children of these marriages.

Done -- I added birth and death information and a biography. The site editors should also be adding Gittins to the famous listings -- he qualifies because he served in Congress.
I find it interesting that his grave marker has the wrong birth year -- 1870. I found several documents including passenger manifests from his overseas trips, all of which indicate that he was born in 1869.
I'll try to find a photo of Gittins to add to this page, too.
Please feel free to let me know if you want me to make any additions, deletions or edits.

I noticed when going through the list for Oakwood to compile a list of memorials that need grave pics, that you made three for this person. Could you please delete two of them. thanks

Sorry, but I didn't make these memorials. If you contact K. Alan Lewis, he/she could probably help you.

I've been trying to fulfill as many photo requests as I can for Forest Hills Cemetery, since it is practically in my backyard, but the cemetery office will only look up the plot location of two names for free, charging a prohibitively high fee of $15 for every two names after the first two. I do know, however, that by calling the Forest Hills Cemetery office during business hours (617.524.0128) or send them an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) other people have been able to get the plot locations for free. If you find out the plot location, I'll be happy to photograph the headstone for you the next time I'm there. If you resubmit your photo request with this information other photo volunteers will be able to access it as well. Finding out what Path or Avenue they're on would be most helpful.

Elizabeth Gertrude Powell Lackor is the wife of my 3rd cousin 3 T.R.
Her parents are named in the book (The Lackor Family) by Mary McCall Middleton.1970
Mary's foot notes has: 1925 Iowa census Elizabeth G.Lackor at Iowa soldiers home,
Marshalltown,listing parents and their marriage place as New York
I also found her parents at Familysearch.org and rootsweb.com
I talked Mary McCall Middleton about 3 years ago and she was living in New Jersey
Hope this helps

Happy to have assisted you in adding headstone photos of your grandparents resting place in Largo Cemetery. These photo additions, along with many others, are the result of a project completed by myself and colleague Susan Hill Davis to make sure as many burials as possible in Largo Cemetery are memorialized on Find A Grave and headstone photos are included. I am sure Susan will be happy to transfer the memorials to your care if you ask. Like yourself, we do it to aid others and the transfer of a memorial to a loving family member is the final frosting on the cake. Stay well Michelle and Warm Regards.

|Phyllis||RE: A. Z. Chambless|
Sorry I cannot help you on the Chambless burial place. The reason I posted Concord Cemetery is because my grandfather was a minister there and I have lots of relatives buried there. But the Chambless folks are not related to me (that I know of) and I have no information. Sorry again.

Thank you for the reminder to change the Cemetery location. Was there a larger stone that the name marker was part of. Like a family marker?
