RE: William Elliot Boswell, Capt
Sorry, I don't know either. But some day I'm going to stop by his grave and see if I can figure it out.

RE: Re Othelbert E Green
Hi Pat, I agree, tracing Othelbert E Green is challenging. Let's see if any of the following helps...

I find an Othelbert Finch, b 1843 NY, enumerated in the 1850 Census for Chatham, Columbia, New York in the household of Reuben and Polly (Lyon) Finch. Reuben and Polly are presumed to be Othelbert Finch's grandparents. Two others, a Thomas and Alzina (Reynolds) Finch are also enumerated in the Reuben Finch household in 1850. We might assume that Othelbert Finch is the son of Thomas and Alzina but he cannot be 100% certain at this point... Alzina Reynolds Finch died abt 1856. Thomas Finch married a second time to Harriet E Green in 1858.

I find an Ethelbert Green, b 1843 NY, enumerated in the household of Darnell D Hilton in the 1860 Census for Chatham, Columbia, New York.

This Ethelbert/Othelbert, however, is never enumerated in the household of Gilbert Green.

Gilbert Green married twice (possibly three times..). I've traced him to two wives: Lydia Sherman, who died in 1851, and Mary Finch, daughter of Reuben of Polly (Lyon) Finch. Gilbert had 4 known children w/his first Lydia -- Eunice, Benoni, Marshall, and Lydia and one daughter -- Eliza -- with his second wife Mary Finch. Othelbert Green, however, is not among the children enumerated in Gilbert Green's household in the 1850, 1860 or 1870 censuses.

Gilbert Green and the Harriet E Green who married Thomas Finch may have been related...the nexus for both surnames was in Columbia County, New York.

Othelbert Green, b 1843 NY, may have been born to Gilbert and Lydia Sherman Green but I think it is odd that he never shows up in that family's census records... Lydia Sherman Green gave birth to daughter, Eunice A Green, in 1843 too. Perhaps Othelbert and Eunice were twins?

I do think there is a correlation between the Green and Finch families. Hope this helps.

Brown family
Was just looking for family information on line at my daughters request. Now that I am the "older" generation, my kids are asking me questions that I really have little information on.
I appreciate what I found posted by you. My mother was Beverly Brown, daughter of Lawrence and Garnett Brown from Kingman, Kansas.
My Aunt Beulah (Brown) Lynch is still living in Missouri.
Thought it interesting when I saw that you live in Casa Grande as I moved to Arizona 30 years ago from Wichita, Kansas and currently reside in San Tan Valley.
....small world....

RE: A.J. Boyer duplicates
You can delete any page if you have "control" of it. Near the edit button (top right)there is a delete link. I wondered if that lady was still doing it. She posted a number of people from some type of list and some have wrong dates, spellings, etc. I go back and try to link families and add dates, etc. for those that I photograph. Good luck in all your searches!

Pat,
Margaret's maiden name has MANY different spellings. (She's my lineage!) Anyway, I believe her last name to be "Overhulser". I have never seen it spelt "Overhusler". I wondered where you found that particular spelling? Thanks

RE: John Boswell
Happy we found the headstone for you. The cemetery is somewhat overgrown with many headstones destroyed. We almost missed John's marker as it was low to the ground and away from the others, near the fence nearest the entrance.

RE: Leta Robinson Pedigo
Pat,
I'm not related. I grew up in Geneseo, so I know the family. Both sides of my family did, and still do, live there, so in my own research I end up with a lot of town history. The local cemetery is a pet project of mine. Hoping to someday have it complete with pictures, information and connections. If you're doing any family research in the Geneseo area, let me know if I can be of any help.

The transfer has been made. Do you need a picture taken of the memorial? I would be glad to go out to Walnut Hill and do it.

I don't know if you are familiar with the Iowa Gravestone Photo Project--but they have a photo of Sarah's gravestone at Boyer Cemetery on their site. They also show photos of the other stones there (the other 7). Thought you might be interested in this site. There are lots of Boyers listed on the Iowa Gravestone Photo Project.

RE: George Washington Nichols
Hi Pat, you can add George's mother on your memorial, also. Roseanna Catz Cotts Nichols - Memorial# 60305896. Sometime soon I will go to the cemetery and see if the family has grave stones.

My husband has a connection to the Catz-Cotts family line.

Thank you
Zina
