|Jerry Byington||Carl Lynn Byington|
Hello Valeen. I am Jerald Byington, son of Keith P Byington, grandson of John Parley Byington. You have done some work for my family, one of which is my dad's younger brother, Carl Lynn Byington. I don't know much about doing what it is you do here on Find-A-Grave, but am seriously interested. One of your friends has transferred a couple of memorials to me and I was wondering if you would do the same with this one and the others you've worked on that are part of Carl's family. I have some life sketches to add but don't know how, yet. Thank you. Oh, I'm retired now, so have much more time to do this kind of thing, including taking photos of the grave markers (that is unless Scouts takes up much of my time..LOL)... by the way, are you related to Stan and Sharon Linville? She is my cousin, daughter of Dan and theo Tyler. Theo is my dad's sister.... Jerry

Thanks for your reply.
I descend from Hiram's son Joseph Henry/Hannah Molland through their daughter Hannah Maria Byington who married William Burrup and lived in the Downey/Grant Ward area in Bannock County. Hannah is a sister to Susan Elizabeth Byington Fisher.
Maria and William's son William Edward "Ed" Burrup (1885-1963), is my grandfather. He married Elizabeth "Bessie" Fox, and they lived in Downey. Their son Clyde (my father) married my mother Helen Greaves from Preston in 1946. Dad farmed and served as the principal of Downey Elementary and Jr. High until 1977 when he retired. He died in 1996, and my mother died in Preston in 2010. They are both buried in Downey next to my grandparents.
By way of brief introduction, I grew up in Downey, served a mission in Italy, graduated from BYU, and married in 1981. I'm the father of four daughters and live in the Salt Lake area where I have worked as one of the archivists of the Church History Department since 1985.
Most of my information about Hiram and Sarah Byington comes from Jimmy Parker's published biography. I compared notes and shared information with Jimmy many times and with his mother-in-law Fay Byington who compiled the book about Joseph Henry. Unfortunately, both of them are now deceased.
I'll be glad to share that information if you want to post it to Hiram's memorial. Let me know. Thanks, again.

I added a photo to Hyrum/Hiram's memorial and would love to add more biographical information about him. He is my 3g grandfather. Would you be interested in transferring his memorial to me? Thank you.

These are Ben South's memorials without last name or some without dates in the Little Butte Cem in Annis, ID. I have included whatever name or dates they have. There is no hurry, they've been lost a long time. We'll just do what we can. If I find one I'll let you know so you'll know not to look for them.
He had so many duplicates. I've gone thru them today trying to solve that problem. WOW, what a mess. I'll wait a few weeks to make sure Find A Grave had had time to do these deletes before working on anthing but the lost ones below.
Annie 61041641 (1880-1938)
Father 61042727 (1847-1924)

Just so you know I was just given all of Ben South's memorials. There are a lot of people in the Annis Cem who only have first names that he entered. Is there a chance you might be able to help clear any of them up, or have any photos?

I think I have returned everyone back to you. Please let me know if I miss someone. I will be sending you those who I gathered in the process of helping you with Annis Cem soon. Just a few families, but they tied into the same group.

Sorry about that. I was going back through to make sure I had requested photos on everyone and had filled out as much as I could.

Post his photo, then just add an explaination "Felix Martin Fisher's siblings told the family that he was given a name after burial, but the certificate was not amended." That is good enough, when you think how many people have amended or delayed birth certificates because the parents didn't have a name or couldn't agree on one.

Does he have a marker photo? Or do we need to get one?

I have not been able to find the burial places of two of his children. I really don't like letting a memorial go until link all their family but I'm truly stumped. So I am ready to transfer him back to you. Or if you would rather, Leland Sorenson said he would manage him. Because you are the creator it is totally up to you. Hope you are having a great St. Patty's Day. It isn't easy being green or so I've heard from Kermit... LOL

Evidently he is starting to catch up on his memorials. Find A Grave only gave him to weeks to get active, so we'll see if he will respond to us now. That way so many of us can get family transfers and delete duplicates. Yea!!!

|Janice (O'Bryan) Byington||RE: Thora Ettie Byington|
Reese Hansen Miles (Find A Grave 29381543) was married to an Irene at the time of death, so he and Thora must have had a divorce. I found 3 children in the 1930 census, so I went ahead and made a memorial for Thora. She was not in Find A Grave under any version of her name.

Any idea where his children, Thora and Les are buried? Maybe Thora has a married surname to search by?

I've changed her middle name to Juvanda, and rounded up some more of the children to connect to them. Only one was someone else's entry, but I've requested that they connect her to the parents also.
Thank you for the helpful information.

You are so right about the mother being Hannah, don't know what I was thinking.
Because yours was added at a later date than the other according to Find A Grave rules, you would delete. Copy and paste the poem first, go to the other memorial, go to edit and offer the poem to them to post on their memorial. Or you could ask Find A Grave to merge the two memorials, but sometimes you get a wild child that way (I've had one...LOL). Those are the only 2 ways I know to work it out.
