Is it possible for you to get a photo of his headstone where it shows dates? The reason I am asking if the dates are correct is, most people back then did not live to be 102 years old. Thanks you for letting me know.

Pvt Charles Wesley Murdock memorials
Please have a look at these two memorials for Charles ( 20379529 and 59111750 ). You will see that a cross linking of the two memorial pages has been completed. Now, the honorary and real burial locations are honored.

Your input in the comment section (flower section) helped clarify the situation. I thought you might like to see how it has been handled. If you would like to address the flower by either removing it or adding a new one, I would most welcome your inputs.

Best Regards,

Permission to use photo?
I would like to ask permission to use your photo of the home built by Terrell White. You currently have it posted on the memorial page that you created for Mr. White.

My great, great uncle, “Hamp” Holcomb moved into the house about 1910. I would like to add your photo to Hamp’s memorial page if it is alright with you. Of course, I would give you credit for the photo.

RE: MARY ANN STEWART HICKS-HIX
Sorry about that, I attached Mary Stewart Hicks to Grover Hicks, because I don't know where Grover Hicks' dad, John M. Hicks, is buried at and couldn't find John M. Hicks obituary too.

Linda & Joe Richards
Richards Cemetery, Ithaca, Carroll County
You said this cemetery was located on what appears to be private property from your description. Do you know the name of the property owner, so that we may contact that person to get permission to visit and photograph the memorials? We are doing family research on the Richards Family. In addition, there are photo requests for them. Also, I noticed you are researching the Thompson Family. I am a descendant of Ransom & Anne Thompson of Carroll County. If this is the family you are researching, please let me know, so we can compare information. Thank you. Linda Richards

RE: Joyce Massey
Thanks for the info, Patsy. Brenda is trying to find ***anything*** on her father James Mansville Phillips. I've been trying to help her a bit, but information on him is sorely lacking before and after his marriage to Brenda's mother. It's almost as if he didn't exist except during that small time frame....at least not on paper. I'm hoping that some of Brenda's relatives might be able to help her find some info. She's been told that she has a half-sister named Peggy Ann Phillips (don't know a married name), and Brenda's hoping to also track her down.

Joyce Massey
Hey Patsy. I saw that you had left some info on James Walter Massey's memorial. Are you related to the family, and did you know Joyce Massey? I'm trying to find info on the father of a friend of mine, and her parents were Joyce Massey and James M. Phillips. She has almost no information on her father. I was wondering if you had any information on them?

RE: OTIS HUGH BOLDEN
Hi Patsy. I haven't seen Joyce in years, and I've been trying to go see her with my mother for some time to try and swap info on the family. Maybe we could all get together the next time that I'm in GA. I'd love to meet you. :-)

As for Uncle Otis' photo....it's up to you. The pink colored one was a scan of an old tin-type photo that my mother has. Someone else apparently downloaded it from the memorial and converted it to black and white.

With the info you gave me I was able to find the book info you mentioned and a web page that has the news articles about the murders. I have added a link to Thomas' memorial and a very sharp remark about people creating new markers for graves they know nothing about. I am glad I created the Latham family memorials so the true story would be told. So many others would not have been interested enough to seek out the truth about the event. Thank you so much for your help with this.

I was researching the note you left on Thomas' memorial and could not find any reference to your statement about his families death. I also discovered that the death date on the 4 markers is not correct. His mother Victoria died on the March 28, 1930 and Thomas signed her death certificate. Also Thomas, his wife and 6 of their children including Grady and Erlene are listed in the April 2, 1930 Mountain View Haralson Co. GA census... so they could not have died on March 18, 1930. None of them are listed in the SSDI, GDI or GVV. May I ask where you found the info about their deaths and do you have any other info to help find the correct death date. The markers were probably placed long after their deaths and the date was guessed. I would like to correct the info, especially since the event was so tragic.
