Robert Carter Harrison
I noticed on your memorial for Robert Carter Harrison #68585542 that Robert S. Harrison #68800142 is listed as a sibling, when he is actually the son of Robert Carter Harrison.

Ray Britt
Mrs Heslop,

Thank you for posting several of my Brett relatives on

I was out of my Brett relatives lives due to extenuating circumstances within our Brett family lives.

It is good to see some of my relatives remembered.

I have searched for Brett family members now for nearly 25 years. My family tree of the Brett clan is now over 1300.

Those white Brett members in Como, Murfreesboro, and Hertford County, North Carolina, are probably related to me.

Thank you for posting and for your husband's photography.

RE: Unknown Pate
Hi Stacy: Good question. Do you know where the information comes from, as I didn't see a photo of the gravestone on the memorial? The gravestone is actually broken into a number of pieces. I did a study of Pioneer Cemetery in 2011. In the study, I found that the Hempstead County Genealogical Society, in their 2000 publication, incorrectly recorded Roswell Beebe Pate's gravestone as reading "December 1857," and his name as "Boswell." The family Bible shows his correct name, as does the 1850 census, and the correct death date as "September 1857." His stone does say "Erected by his mother Sarah Pate." Taking all that together, I believe your Unknown Pate is Roswell Beebe Pate. However, if your information is from a different source, then we might need to do more investigation.

RE: us!
I went back and found the memorial I originally sent you information about, and yes we are related if you are related to the Kerlin family? You see, Linnie Mae Harris married Lester Row Kerlin. Her parents were Daniel H Harris and Sytha Anna Moore. That line eventually leads back to the Ewing family, Mary Frances Ewing to be exact. My ancestors are Ewing also. I'm one of those people who enjoy doing genealogy and I've pretty much researched all my lines back to the point that I'm stuck on most of them. So, since I enjoy doing genealogy so much, I've started making sure I've also researched the descendants as much as I can to everyone in my tree. I could probably help you out with information if you are interested. If you can tell me who you are related to and how you are related to them, I can look it up in my database and probably help you out with your genealogy. Just let me know. My email address is

RE: us!
My grandmother's family was from Georgia, but I personally have no relations here in Arkansas. My family and I moved to Arkanasas from Arizona back in 1997 or so. If you are talking about Gwinnett County though, I've come to the conclusion that most of the people there must be related in some way though! lol I bought a book years ago that was put out by the Gwinnett County Historical Society. Once I put the information about my great grandparents ancestry along with the lines that married into the Pattillo and Ewing family, I looked through the index at the back of the book and found more people's ancestry that had married into the Ewing family especially and found that when I got done, about two-thirds of the book was related to my great grandparents in some way!! So, If you can tell me the surnames you have in Georgia, I can check my database and let you know if I have any information for you. Then, if you would like, I can send you a GEDCOM of whatever information I have if you want. My personal email address is

Ruth Dowdy-McArthur
Dowdy Family Cemetery in Cumberland County, VA

It looks like there are two separate Dowdy Family Cemeteries in Cumberland County, VA. Do you happen to know if this is the same Dowdy Family Cemetery where Robert Sidney Dowdy is buried?

Can you be more specific with the location of this Dowdy Family Cemetery? The other one appears to be in Cumberland City, or close to it.

I am a Dowdy bur from a branch which was located in Chatham County, NC going back into the 1700's. I am recording many different Dowdy lines and working on them in both and Find A Grave, trying to get information tied together. It is quite a job.

I'd love to hear from you.

Carolyn Murray Greer
Looney descendant
Have you any info on Mary Looney who married George Birdwell? I believe her father is Thomas Looney born 1718, son of Robert Looney born 1692 in Ballagilley, Maughold, Isle Of Manx Mann, Ireland and died 14 Sep 1769 in Botetort County, Virginia, USA.

Also, a Margaret Looney (Margrett Loney) who married Levi Isbell married on 28 February 1844, Franklin County, Tennessee (1844 Marriage Book, p.60)?

Thanks for any info you could share.

I've just learned that anyone can now make link additions to memorials. This will save me from having to bug you and other contributors about getting parents and spouses linked! I think this may have upset some of the contributors, because I've noticed a lot of their memorials have been deleted, especially at Arlington Cemetery.

Hey, Stacy ...

I believe this person was a female and her maiden name was Tugwell, but I have no proof. If it were a man, I don't think "Tugwell" would be on the back of the tombstone if it were his middle name.

I have looked for that cemetery several times but I am wondering if the remaining couple of stones got destroyed during the logging of that area. Just wondering if you knew! Thanks!

Cox Cemetery, Sullivan County
Hi, there are several (61) people listed in the Cox Cemetery of Sullivan County, Tennessee that are not buried there. This cemetery is on my family's farm. I have added photos to the three known graves there and would appreciate it if you would remove the other memorials. Thanks!!

I was so excited when I found you had recorded this man's memorial on Findagrave. I had looked and checked everywhere, but when I rechecked, it had been added by YOU. Thank you so much for that. I am not related to him, but would like to add some history to his Bio, and if you want to transfer it to me, that would be fine; I could then transfer back to you. I've done that a few times. However, I can send the bio and have you add it if that is acceptable. I will use the Edit for it. --Winnie (wvy)
