Sanford
Hi there,
i saw your resquest on for G. Sanford.
I wont be getting your headstone photo for you but will share with you the fact that Greenwood has a website.
You can get a photo from them, they have almost all of them on file but the format they put them on i can never get them off and on find a grave memorial.
But you may know how to do it.
They also have a genealogical tab on their page that you can put in the last name of the person you are looking for and get the obit.(they might not have every one and but if it is blue highlighted then you click on the blue highlighted name and the obit will be there)
They have done a great job getting all those obits on there.
The one you requested a photo for is on there......plus Glen Sanford too i didnt look for any others but they had four pages of Sanfords possibilities.
I am always pretty happy because some of those obits are older and long lost in our lives.
So i hope this helps you and i am sure someone closer to Greenwood will grab up the photo request.
Here is the Greenwood site address.
for a copy of the headstone photo contact Karl.
Karls address is : karl@gwood.us
Greenwoods website is : www.gwood.us.

RE: I don't know my counties too well, eh?
What probably confused you was the name of 2Trolls. Our oldest son went to MI Tech which is where we first heard of the LP people being called Trolls. It made us laugh and we have used it for different things since! My daughter went to school over in your neck of the woods (Spring Arbor)so we are somewhat familiar with your area. Findagrave is great and I have gotten so much useful info off of it. Happy (ancestor) hunting! Ronda

RE: Reason Pemberton
Happy to transfer to a relative - I am uncertain of who is in charge of the cemetery at this time but the village government of Vandalia should know. I have some other Pembertons there that I am also willing to transfer to you. My only connection is that someone wanted a picture from the cemetery and I decided to photograph the other graves while I was there. Let me know if you would like me to transfer the others. Ronda

Sarah Rohrer
Hi, I have done a local search here in the area for Sarah Arvonda Odykirk Miller Sanford Rohrer and I think I have found her obit and the cemetery that they have her listed in is in Alanson, MI. But, they have her as Sarah E. Rohrer same dates. I will try to get a photo and send obit along with it. May take me a few weeks as the area here is still under a blanket of snow. I will keep you posted. Thanks, Brenda Hollister

Grace
Osborne family
Ormond D. Osborn is the son of Ormond B. Osborn (b. about 1903, MI) son of William O. Osborne (b. 8/1861 Tecumseh, MI) and Bertha A. ______ (b. about 1872) son of John Henry Osborne (b. 8/1832 MA) and Annie Whittemore (b. 3/1830 NY) son of John William Osborne (b. 1791 Pembroke, MA) and Mary Whiting Wheeler (b. 11/1809 Dorchester, MA) son of John Osbourne (b. 3/16/1769 Pembroke, MA) and Abigail McFarland (b. 4/7/1764 Pembroke, MA) son of George Osbourne (b. abt. 1733 unknown) and Sarah Wade (b. 1737 Pembroke, MA)

George Osbourne and seven sons fought in the revolutionary war. John Osbourne was 9 years old, and a "boy" on the ship "Deane" He missed transferring to the ship "Alliance" by a couple of days. He remained on the Deane with one brother. Three of his brothers were on the Alliance, two died as a result of wounds.

The family name was spelled many ways in records until about 1780, when it was consistently spelled with the U and final E. until the 1820 census when the U was dropped.

John and two brothers moved to Maine, probably land granted to them for fighting in the war. One source says John was a traveling preacher.
He returned to Massachusetts, and then moved to Tecumseh, MI less than two years before his death.
