|Kit Timmons||Cheviot Cemetery - Carsons|
I will be posting the pictures I was able to take at Cheviot Cemetery. I had only about 10 minutes in town but got some - not Laura's though, I'm sorry, as I didn't know I would be right next to the cemetery and didn't look at photo requests until a day or so after I was there. So check in a few days to see what I've been able to post. Happy hunting! Kit

|Heaven Bound||BURIAL - LAURA BELLE SHANKS QUARY|
Dear Tnt Adams,
Can you tell me where the headstone of Laura Belle Shanks Quary is located - Memorial 65408629.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, Robert Wilkinson does not have a headstone. The cemetery caretaker placed a brick with his name on it so we could take the photo. I hope this helps.

|Cindy||Patricia Bray headstone|
I had claimed your request to get a photo of this headstone but I had to unclaim it as I have hurt my back and have been in bed for a week. I can walk a little bit now but it will be awhile before I can walk and bend enough to clean off a headstone and take a photograph. I unclaimed it in the hope that maybe someone else would claim it. If it is still up when I am getting around better, I will try again.
I'm sorry I couldn't get your photo but hopefully someone else will soon.

We may have common kin. I have both families in my tree that you mentioned. Perhaps we can exchange info.

|Family Searcher||Jines family of Dahlgren|
I saw a comment you left reference the Jines family. Are you related to them? Some of them are cousins of mine. Others I'm connected to in Dahlgren and Hamilton Co. are the Parkhill and Mitchell families.
Please drop a note and we can exchange info.

the town of Lovilla is a field now not Preston cemetery.
Preston has several graves in it including John and elizabeth's sons David and young Squire and their families. I know there is more than 30 to 4o graves there. each time that I have been there it has been mowed.
Shelton cemetery is back in the woods in a farmer's field. most stones had been vandalized and very few are standing.

|Rambling Genealogist||John, Elizabeth Lowry/ Light, Rachael Lowry|
There is no proof that John and Elizabeth Lowry are buried at Lowry Hill in Dahlgren or that Light and Rachel Lowry are buried at the Shelton cemetery in Dahlgren. Ginger Vick added them there without any proof whatsoever. I believe them to be buried at Preston Cemetery with 2 other sons of John and Elizabeth. They both lived a very short distance from Preston Cemetery and John and Elizabeth's son John did not donate the land for Lowry Hill cemetery until the 1880s. John died in 1848 and Elizabeth in the early 1850s.
In fact Preston Cemetery is very close to Louvilla, the town where they all came to in the 1830s. There is nothing but a field there now.
