|George Seitz||Contention Estate Cemetery|
I noticed your note to Thomas J. Fraser regarding the photographing of Contention Estate Cemetery. Being very interested in such things, it was my pleasure to do so yesterday. I have added all the legible entries. They all post-date the Governor and all are from the Guy family. There are two illegible markers I am still researching. There are also approximately a dozen fieldstones. You can see the results on the site now.

You are quite welcome. In addition to his wife, Carrie and Mary are also buried there with Charles.

|Thomas J Fraser||RE: Contention Estate|
I visited that cemetery about 4.5 years ago--I recall it was located just down the road from the estate and it was surrounded by a stone wall. I only took a picture of James Pleasnts' stone, which was obviously not the original stone, but a more modern flat marker. Sorry I do not have any other pictures. Tom

|Vicki of MN||RE: Kristine Egeness|
It could very well be that one of the crosses represents Kristine Egeness.
Ancestry's Minnesota Cemetery Inscription Index, Select Counties about Kristine H Egeness reads:
Woodman Cemetery: BURIED FROM MENIGHET CHURCH, FARIBAULT, MN. PROBABLE BURIAL
It is from the Dalby Database that contains over one million records. Burials from cemeteries in Minnesota and some outside
of Minnesota, Births, Marriages, Census, Rice County
City Directories, Civil War Veterans, Articles from
Newspapers and Index of people in books.
You can search this database at http://www.dalbydata.com/ or
For assistance contact John or Jan Dalby:
email@example.com http://www.dalbydata.com/ or John Dalby [firstname.lastname@example.org]. I'm not sure which if any are current.
According to a local newspaper the Menighet Church later became the First English Lutheran Church:
25 Years Ago: Faribault Daily News, Mar. 6-8, 1986
First English Lutheran was celebrating 125 years of ministry. Although the present parish was organized in 1931, merging several churches, its earliest ancestor was Faribault Menighet, a small congregation of Norwegian Americans begun in 1861. Its founding pastor later served as president of Luther College.
Present church location: 204 2nd St NW, Faribault, MN 55021
You may be able to contact the church to see if they have any old records. I'm not sure who you would contact to see if there is a plot number.

|Ruth Pickle||RE: Ada Perrin|
Thanks for letting me know her maiden name. I will add that to the site. I'm sorry that it is so hard to read! The stone is like new and probably has been replaced. It is just the style. I could not read the words that were added at the bottom at all. I may try to enhance her name and etc., at least, with PrintShop. I don't know my ggrandmother's maiden name and would about kill to know, so that info will be wonderful for someone, I'm sure. Ruth

I did not create the memorial, nor do I maintain it. I only uploaded the photo. If you'd like the maiden name corrected, you'll need to contact the maintainer. Usually the best way to do that is to click on "Edit" and then "Suggest a Correction".

|Jill G.||RE: Hazel o'Rourke|
Are you referring to the ones in the Mt Carmel Cemetery near Easton? If so I can transfer. FYI -I don't know if you have been to the Verona cemetery but I'm related to almost everyone there. My Grandparents Cecil and Emily Foss are buried there. I've been to both those cemeteries and Blue Earth more times than I can count. (along with the ones near Winnebago).

Thank you for the picture of Levi's stone. When I was there I could only read his wife's name and honestly didn't look at the other side since it was pouring that day. Appreciate your help very very much.

Thanks so much for adding all my grnadparents to find a grave for me. I live in Cedar Rapids and do not drive so have to ask for help from the local folks.
I have to ask if you are any relation to Willard Ernest Huper as Beverly was married to one of my cousins for many years.
