Mary Jo C. Martin
Dear Janet:

I've been so busy finishing a master's degree that I have just realized that I neglected to acknowledge your recent efforts on my behalf. I'm so sorry.

Thanks so much for trying to find the gravestone of my great-great grandfather Newtown Moulton in Gilead Cemetery, even if you didn't succeed. You are a gem! I have quite a few family members in that cemetery, so it's frustrating that Newton's marker is not visible.

He and his wife were divorced, and his kids scattered to eastern CT and New York. One also died young. I get the feeling that he was a nice man but a bit overwhelmed by life, so he had some bad luck with maintaining family contact. Perhaps there was never a stone, or perhaps it was small and is now overgrown.

Nevertheless, you tried, and I am grateful for that. If the sexton ever finds anything, I would appreciate knowing about it. I have a photo of Newton holding his great-grandson, my dad, and my own son looks like Newton, so I feel a connection to him.

Thanks again for your kindness.

Warm regards,
Mary Jo

Wealthy Curtice Hodge
Hi Janet:

Thanks for the cemetery tombstone transcription for Wealthy. I am curious about the cited b. and d. dates that indicate a 2-year lifespan and also that she was a wife.

Did you happen to note any dates or take a photograph?
