William Daniel
Don't know if you have ever been to Cosgrove Cemetery or not. In 2009 my daughter and I and eight others went to TX, met up at a local motel, located the cemetery (which has long since been abandoned) and had a wonderful time tromping thru the brush and photographing what headstones were there. So sad that several only had sandstones as markers. That is how the one grave that I went to find was marked. Some of the people did have a brush hog come out the following weekend to clean up the cemetery and I believe they have since had the cemetery designated as a historical cemetery and it is now kept in better condition.

It was a wonderful trip "digging up bones" so to speak - made some nice friends while there.

Keep up the memorial for William in good faith.

Charles Early #104301399
Dear Sir,

I wanted to let you know that I found I had, unintentionally, made a duplicate memorial for Charles Early, as the original contributor had misspelled his name. She had it spelled Earley. I have sent an edit to Find A Grave, and am deleting my memorial, after moving my gravestone photo to the original memorial.

Since you had left a nice flower/note, on my memorial, I wanted to let you know, so in case you would like to go in on her memorial #21359576, and leave a message.

Russell Daniel?
Is that the Russell Daniel that grew up in Greenwood, SC? He is now a retired anesthesiologist. Thanks, Eddie Brown

Julia Holmes / Bedford Union
Have made changes and transferred the memorial to you.

I've been working on trying to photograph all the graves at Bedford Union, but won't be able to re-start for a few weeks due to snow and the inevitable mud of March. Will try to take new photos when I go over there. A lot of the headstones in that particular area of the cemetery have lichen growth, as it's shaded and doesn't get much direct sun.

Glad you found your relative!

I had noticed that you had left a message on some of the Watson descendant's graves that are buried at Myrtle Hill. Are you related? I too, am a cousin of theirs. Would like to hear from you.

my connection
I guess I could have answered questions too... My maternal grandfather, Irl Roy Lowry was the brother of both Myrtis Pearl Lowry Magee & Llewellyn Lowry Stipe. They were the 3 youngest of the 8 or 9 kids. They lived near each other and were always close. They were also completely wild & crazy characters! Lots of family quirks and such. For instance my grandfather always greeted me by saying "how are you boy, are you married yet?"

I'm a girl and as long as I can remember he would tease me. They had their own sayings & ways of expressing themselves that was hilarious. Sometimes no one else got the joke except them but that was ok with them. Armilda Jane Magee Loveless actually put together a book of all their 'Lowry-isms'

Added by Becky on Jan 18, 2013 9:29 AM

nice to meet you! Thank you for the info. I linked Aunt Myrtis to her husband. Then I found she had a son who died after being hit by lightening?!? I didn't know that. I did know about Armilda Jane's twin dying at birth.

Do you know Myrtis Pearl Lowry Magee's birthdate or when she married Bart Magee? I'm sure I have her birthdate somewhere but as she was pretty vain it's a well guarded secret. Both Aunt Myrtis and her sister Aunt Lou (Llewellyn Lowry Stipe) refused to put their birthdates on their tombstones so that no one would know how old they were. They were such characters! I was particularly close to Aunt Lou but since Myrtis & Llewellyn were very close Aunt Myrtis was often around too.

I wish I would have gotten more info from Jeff before he died. I know he worked on all of this a lot. Are you related on the Magee or Loveless side?

RE: Thank you
:) Not related that I know of unless your related to Bailey's of Montana or Rapp's of Nebraska. I'm a bit of an odd ball click on random names from time to time. Sometimes its lead me to family sometimes its a neat profile. Yours was a neat profile.
