Marie Gatien Donahue
Thank you for the gravesite information. I was aware of the location through the Mt. Olivet website. Marie's death certificate which was online, did not state a cemetary, and I assumed it was Mt. Olivet based on her address at the time, and the fact that she was Catholic. This search has been 40 years in process, as my mother believed that her stepmother was not her biological mother. (They were estranged). Fortunately my mother was able to learn who her mom was just before her 78th birthday! Anyway, her one goal was to place flowers on Marie's gravesite, and I intend to fulfill that request, as she herself is deceased.

Re. Clementine Gatien Bresnaham
Thank you for maintaining this memorial. My biological grandmother was Clementine's younger sister, Marie (she is listed as Mary). Marie married Raymind Donahue in September of 1923, in Detroit, Michigan. They had one daughter, Jacqueline (my mother) , born in August of 1924. Marie Gatien Donahue died on 8/20/27, of turburculosis at the Maybury Sanitarium in Northville, Michigan, she is buried at Mt. Olivet, in Detroit, Michigan, and I am planning to visit the cemetary, as we have recently learned of the location. This information, was very helpful as part of this search.

RE: Gertrude Inez Golding
I'm related to her first husband, Donald George McDowell, so there's no need for me to manage her memorial, though thank you for offering it to me.

You'll notice in the 1940 census that there are two little girls living with Gertrude and her 2nd husband: Virginia Lee Hoyt, b. about 1936 and Margaret Ellen Hoyt, b. about 1938. These two may be the daughters of Gertrude and Donald McDonald, but there's no way to know at this time. Their births are too recent for their marriage records to be online and without knowing who they married (if they married), when they died. Probably Virginia is Donald's daugther, Gertrude and Donald were married in 1935. I haven't been able to find a marriage record for Gertrude and Claude, and if Gertrude was pregnant with Margaret and had her in 1938, she's probably Donald McDowell's child as well. Again, I won't know if they were his children in my lifetime.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond to me. :)

RE: Bessie Reid #54455322
Hi Cindy-

thank you! And yes, I will let you know if I find a death cert for Albert White too. When I went to look up certs the other day, the volunteer didn't know anything about them. I will try again when the main person is there! There has to be more info out there!

Hi Cindy-

I have linked Bessie to her husband Albert I. White. Do you by any chance, have his exact death date? I will look for a certificate this week, and an obituary. The cemetery record says 1940.

Would you mind transferring the memorial #75125005, to me. She was my great-great grandmother. And it would mean very much to myself and my family.

RE: John Ira Woodrow photo request
The location is correct as it came right from the cemetery's Interment Report. Per the map from the cemetery office, there appears to be 20 gravesites in Lot 43 and very few of them have markers, unfortunately. I didn't try to take a photo because John's exact spot is impossible to determine since Lot 43 flows unmarked from the nearby lots and is mostly just a grassy area without any indication where the individual graves are located. If you want, when I return to the cemetery this coming weekend, I can photograph the general area where the grave should be and post that. It's always so sad to find that a grave is unmarked.

RE: Old Evergreen is the Auburn cemetery
You are welcome. I suspected that you meant the Auburn Cemetery by the description of the location. There are Altenbergs, though, at Evergreen. The monument sit right in the front row by the main gate. I photographed the group but not the individual foot stones as of yet, so I cannot recall their names.

You're welcome! I have been browsing old newspapers. Earlier obits are scarce on details and hardly ever named a cemetery so I have to get on Find A Grave and hope they are listed. I was delighted to find Sarah and add something to the Argos cemetery.

I run into discrepancies between transcribed stones and obits. I would go with the obit as the stone may have been illegible or hard to read. I've seen that so often.
