Hi Gigi,
If you can call Crestlawn and get plot information/location I'd be happy to hunt for John Lee's headstone.

I just wanted to say what a beautiful tribute you wrote of your friend. To have someone like you in her life was I'm sure a joy for her! From her photo she looks like she was a happy, take life as it comes and deal with it kind of gal, someone we could all hope to emulate. I'm sure Victoria is walking along with you throughout your life and that she is happy and content and out of her health struggles. I wish you love and peace.

Twin Lakes Colo.Carolyn Ruff Hawkins
My family and I went to twin lakes colo and stayd the summer. My parents had a coffee shop and built rooms behind the coffee shop for travelers to rent. Behind all that there was a Log cabin house a ways back from the cabins. WE lived in the house. This was about 1950. My sister and I had so much fun that summer, I will never forget that place. In 1950 there was no electric or water piped in to the house. We had to use gas lamps and an outhouse. My dad had a rain barrel as high as the 2nd story of the house and was able to pump water from the well and it would gravity feed down into pipes water pipes that went into the kitchen. My parents caught a ton of trout(we also rented boats to people) and my dad could cook the best hamburger and make the best pies ever. When winter came we closed everything up and went to Nebraska. I think my dad sold everything in Colo. Oh, we also went to Leadvill to have our clothes washed and to shop.

In working on my Family Tree, I came across you memorial for John Osborn and his son Allen James.

I am looking for details on my Great Grandmother, John's daughter, Mary Grant Osborn. Would you have any information on her or her husband, Aaron Tindall Robertson. I have not had success in my searches on the internet.

Thanks for the help.

RE: Your Story
Thank you so much, Gigi, for your kind words and thoughts! I still get chills when I remember the first time I saw the actual graves of my biological grandparents. I wish Find A Grave had been available back then.

If you want me to transfer your relatives' memorials to you, I'd be happy to do so. Just let me know which memorials you'd like transferred.

Happy New Year!

Johnson ancestors
Hi, I don't know if we have corresponded before but if not we should have. I am kind of the family historian for our family and when my son got married I added my daughter-in-laws ancestors. Her grandfather was Roy A. Johnson who was a brother to John Otto and Pete. Do you know if there are any old family photos? You have done a great job on Find A Grave. Do you have a tree on Ancestry?

I was so happy to see that someone from this wonderful site created a memorial for such a sweet soul as Schoep Unger. Your words will always be such a comfort to his human companion as the coming months will see him mourning the loss of his friend of 20 years. And the photos that you chose to upload are precious. Mrs. French
I was looking at your memorial for Mrs. French. Are you sure this is the correct Mrs. French and not her DIL? Being born in 1838 the photo, clothing and hair style are that of 1880 era Just a thought.

RE: Hi Joe
Westview is a particularly difficult cemetery to fulfill photo requests. It is such a huge cemetery. Back in February when I first went there, there were 285 requests. I spent one day looking for the first 10 on the list, and I quickly decided that there was no future in that. So, I paid the cemetery a small fee, and they looked up all 285. I have systematically gone through the entire place one section at a time, and I have finally after 3 months fulfilled all of them. Of course, now there are 44 more. I think I'll wait until there are another 285 before I start again. I have learned a lot about an amazing place. I have a lot of Stoner relative in north Alabama and Georgia, but I have no record of Bogie or Perry. It is an unusual name, though, and my father always said, we must all be related.

RE: Thank you for the Photo
Interesting question... It turns out that the cemetery told me that ther should be a monument and marker for Irene. There was a marker for Robert, but none for Irene. I called the cemetery and asked them why the discrepency. They didn't know, but guessed that her marker has sunken and is buried. I will try to dig around and see if it is there next time I'm there.

I couldn't read your story fast enough and have had a similar experience, how very kind of you to do what you did.

I start out uploading photos and graves of one of the first public cemeteries where I live and I am the historian of such, but those photos that pop up keep me from ever completing my task!

I am please I stopped to read this one.
