I Know; it freaked me out, scared me, made me sick, nervous, anxious, and then I went to read what others were saying. I actually have my great grandmother's contract (60s) - One page front and back and it does not discuss future memorials being created on a thing to be called the internet or the web!

|Judy Ber2c W||Thank You|
I agree with your response to Hope; I actually have the 1960 contract my great grandmother signed when she bought it and do you really think they thought about posting pictures back then? No way. They are rude and I was glad to see you felt like me. Take care and God Bless. Judy

These stones have an inscription, but you are correct, it is highly eroded and difficult to read. I would estimated that 20-30% of all the headstones at Chalmette are in similar or worse condition. Often I have to rely on readable headstones nearby and count to reach the correct number. I was able to discern the number of Louis Heitman's headstone, but barely. I too another photo of a man named Patrick Fineral (32489325) in the same section. You may want to look at that photo to get an idea of how poorly maintained this cemetery is. It is the poorest maintained national cemetery I have visited.

I re-read what I had sent you previously an I was not clear about who was buried at that particular gravesite. The names appear on the cemetery's listing of burials. There are often errors in their listings, particularly with name spelling. This is where the confusion came from. Below is a list (according to cemetery records) of everybody listed as buried at 29 Rosemary Hawthorne Cedar:
First Name Middle Name Last Name Age Date of Burial
Albert H. Bittenbring 77 10/08/1973
Rose Bittenbring 67 08/15/1965
Alphose Dubic 32 12/17/1910
Alphonse Duvic 39 11/28/1893
Kate Duvic 39 03/29/1897
William Duvic 27 08/23/1909
Child L. Engelhorn sb 07/09/1926
Child Louis Engelhorn sb 10/24/1929
Irene Roche Engelhorn 30 10/26/1929
Albert V. Fischer 36 07/02/1935
Frank Keehn 23 04/24/1884
William Keelin 25 03/13/1888
June La basse 03/08/1989
June La basse 55 11/25/1985
Eugene Newcombe 53 11/06/1933
Mercier Lee Porche 45 11/13/1919
Mildred Mary Porche 25 05/23/1927
Emma Porche 57 02/23/1936
Mercer F Porche 5 06/16/1902
It is my belief that Child L Engelborn and Child Louis Englehorn, as well as June La basse (both liste twice), may just be a relocation within the same grave to amke room for another burial.
I also believe Kate Duvic is actually Catherine Duvic.
I hope that clears things up.

There is no headstone with Catherine or Wiliam's name engraved. There is an engraving for Alphonse Divic, and there is also an Alphone Dubic, which I suspect is a grave movement within the same grave for Alphonse Duvic.

|Taweret||Regarding photo request in Calvary cemetery located in Lakewood WA|
Office staff are quoting to photo request volunteers that they will be charging them to give locations of burials. As this cemetery was fully photo documented two years ago, chances are that your request cannot be fulfilled due to: A) Illegible temporary maker or a buried marker and B) No marker at all. If you wish your request to be honored, you will have to contact the office and inquire as to location.

I saw that you added the Bayhi tomb from St. Louis #3. The side of the tomb had 2 more markers. I will upload those and can transfer them to you if this is indeed your family - I am not related.

Hi Matthew-She is not listed on this grave and I have not been able to locate her, however, I still have quite a few photos I am still working on. I may come across her. I will keep your information and if I do find her I will give you a heads up.

The marker for Josephine Knapp had fallen over and was very weathered. Luckily a cemetery assoc. member was nearby and permitted us to lift the marker and tilt it sideways to the sun to try to get the lettering to show a little better. She said she would try to get it added to a list of markers they plan to repair.
