And who would think to look for a young child at the Stockton Asylum? He may be one of the youngest patients I've found so far, but there have been others. Heartbreaking really, but I suppose even a youngster who is acting out in a dangerous way has to be contained in a controlled environment. No doubt asylums were not ideal places for children (or most adults who weren't dangerous) but from many accounts Stockton was among the better ones in its earlier history anyway.

My biggest objection to the asylum is how the gravesites weren't respected in later times. Some were moved to another nearby location, others were not and who knows where any of the patients actually rest. To my knowledge, most of the early burial sites are built over, paved over, or under a fountain and water area. I'm just trying to account for the early patients.

Anyway, it's wonderful to know there are others who wish to know about their kinfolk and where they are buried.

RE: Pruvost in Lehigh Cemetery, Coal County, Oklahoma
Thank you very much for your message and your additions. I do not think that a transfer of the memorial is necessary because I have not found his wife's death (probably in the USA). Perhaps somebody will find it there one day and will complete the memorial.

RE: Pruvost in Lehigh Cemetery, Coal County, Oklahoma
Thank you very much for adding my info about Jules CÚlestin PRUVOST. In fact, he was not born on May 1st, 1857, as it is indicated on the tombstone, but on April 30th, 1857. On the birth certificate (registered on May 1st), it is written "nÚ hier", which means "born yesterday", that is April 30th. But that is not very important.

RE: Rebecca (Smith) Hardin
Thank you for your kind ds. I always try to do an edit within 24 hours and in this case I found their marriage right off the bat which gave proof Smith was her maiden name. Is she or any of the other Hardin's related to you or if you have an interest in any I own I would be happy to transfer. Eileen
