RE: Elsie Schroff
Left the picture for Frank L. The only other Schroff's I have are Delbert and his family. Will go back and see if I can find anything for Glenn.

Well we need boots on the ground to find the parents grave unless the local historic societies know.

Greenbrier County
First I will tell the story of a famous wealthy General Officer named Davis who owned 1000 acres on the east side of Muddy Creek Mountain overlooking Lewisburg, Greenbrier County WV. Not far from where Charley A. Davis worked in coal mines. From that family came many of the Davis' in the county. I have been in their private cemetery. And many were named Charles after another famous Civil War Davis of the area. In addition, Charley has middle name Asbury, another old time and prominent family in the same area as General Lewis, around the corner so to speak. So then I was a bit thrown off balance with all the links to family in Madison County VA, etc. made by others. When the name is common like Charles Davis, then I wonder, is this the Charles Davis of Madison County VA?? Just seems out of place on first glance knowing some many of the other Davis's in the area. Just thinking out loud from perspective of probability. When in Colorado, I would not be surprised to see buffalo, but I would be surprised to see buffalo in Greenbrier County WV.

Ah I suspected that was the issue.
I will assist in looking for things.
Also for a hobby I convert old black and white photos to color. If you are related you may have some high quality photographs.
My posts are temporary and can be edited any time as more facts emerge.

Wondering if you could explain how Charley Davis was born 13 years after his mother died.
Either death cert is correct and her maiden name is Nickle (also a common surname in that region) or she did not die in 1860 but rather 1915 and he maiden name is Nicholson. Seems to be no consensus on Ancestry.

There is a beta tombstone picture upload program which anyone can add tombstone pictures and that person has 7 days to work those pictures, if they do not, then after 7 days anyone who has a Find A Grave id can transcribe the tombstone picture which will add the tombstone picture to the memorial if one exist or will add a memorial when there isnt one.

First of all we didnt take the picture only transcribed it under the beta upload system. Since the person will not remove this particular memorial, send an email to edit at Find A Grave, with a link to this memorial and the correct memorial and ask edit to merge the two memorials.

Miles/McClure
Hi Phyllis!

Russell Miles and Ida Belle (McClure) Miles are my grandparents. My mom is Mary (Miles) Hench. I saw where you mentioned that you live in Idaho and were happy to have somebody send you pictures of their tombstones. What other kinds of pictures are you looking for, if any?

Mary Ann Smith McClure
Hi again! I have added 2 photos for her gravesite. I am fairly certain there is a slight depression to the right of Dexter- enlarge photo to see. The other photo shows the line-up of Frank, Dexter, and Mary Ann. Let me know if I can help you in any other way!

Son Carper
Hi! I went back to Grandview and could not find the grave you wanted me to locate, but I am adding photos today. So she doesn't have a gravestone but space is there by her husband and son where she is probably buried.

Son Carper- Find A Grave Memorial# 19415696
Son Carper- please remove the documents on his grave that pertain to Rose. I am unable to add photos for Son Carper because the space is taken up for Rose's documents. I have contacted Kathy (always the first step) and asked her to revise the bio. I also let her know I was asking you to remove Rose's docs. I also referenced her to the gravestones which show these birthdates. This should fix the problem.
Thanks friend Phyllis!

re: Dexter McClure & Betty Scott
Hi! You are very welcome! I did not see a gravestone for Mary Ann, but I wasn't particularly looking for one as the notes didn't print out on the sheet I took to Grandview. Nevertheless, I think I photographed all McClure's. I haven't added in all the pictures from yesterday as I was in a hurry to leave town for the weekend. I should be able to get back to Grandview this week. I also need to check to see if she has Caldwell on her gravestone, as that could be why she was overlooked.
I have made her a memorial while I work on looking for her grave. I am happy to transfer any in Grandview to you as they are not my family. I will also look for any indication if her body was buried near her family but without a gravestone. Also, after I am finished feel free to ask me to remove any obits, but easier for me to have info available while I am researching. Thanks.
