Thank you for posting the Memorial for my 2nd great uncle. He was a hard man to locate... until you and Find-A-Grave came along. One more piece of the family puzzle has been solved.

Annie Frances Cambron
Thanks for your message regarding Annie Frances Cambron. It was really a tough call for figuring out where "Carroll Manor, Maryland" was way back in 1822. The little bit I could find on it said Frederick County. And how that old location relates to modern day geography is another subject. Very confusing!

All the best regards and thanks for your help.

I found this on Ancestry and thought you might want to put it in her bio. Her number is 51320649.

Sarah Stewart

mikeboruta52added this on 28 Feb 2010..
Sarah, daughter of John & Anna Lee Stewart, was born in Clinton Co Ohio per an admission record to a Soldiers Home in 1905. She was married 3 times. First to Ethen Cassman, next to George Norris, and finally to John Shatto. All thse marriages ended in divorce. Sarah had a number of children with Ethen - and one with George W. Norris. She died just 10 days after being admitted to the Lafayette IN Soldiers Home in Jan 1905 and is buried as Sarah Norris in the cemetery there. One of Sarah's brothers, Levi Lewis Stewart, is my great-great grandfather. Mike Boruta -

Thanks, Carolyn Ellis.
This is relation of my husband's mother.

Thomas Smith
Hi, I noticed you have a record for Thomas H. Smith at the Indiana Soldier Home in Lafayette Indiana. I have been researching him and have a tombstone record from Ancestry that states Thomas H Smith Co D 50th reg. Ind. Inf. This record is from the "Headstones provided for Deceased Civil War Veterans 1879-1903" and it states that he died 21 June 1898. This information comes from the National Archives in Washington.
Can you tell me why this stone is in the WWI area because even if he died in 1900, this was before WWI?
Not sure if you are working from WPA records or from the home itself. just trying to figure this out. Thank you, C True

Happy Mother's Day! I also live in AZ. Do you belong to AZFHS? Joseph & Delila were my maternal
grandmother's maternal grandparents through their daughter Minnie. Joseph is my civil war grandfather, and they are the first set of gggrandparents I ever researched. John is their son (my grandmother Delilah' uncle) who was killed in the Spanish-American War in the Philippines. Minnie named her daughter, Delilah Amanda(my grandmother)after her mother. I have copies of the military pensions of both Joseph and John, and Minnie is named on Joseph's. And I have a letter from the cemetery verifying that John is their son.
I hope you will consider transferring this family to me.
Thanks, Sue

I have more to add to his memorial as well. I need to get on that and some others related to the same project. I'be been distracted recently by a breakthrough in a line of my ancestry and have been using my time following other leads. Sorry for the delay in updating his memorial.

RE: Changes to many plots
There was/is some confusion over direction of graves in both the Central and WW I New World sections of the cemetery. There is at least one map on the Internet that has them going in the wrong direction.
That has been made worse by some people assigning rows from the wrong direction. Most section rows run West to East; but, Central and West Central run East to West.
I am working to verify/correlate the correct positioning of the graves with the 'old' records and the index card file. That information will be verified with cemetery walk-throughs by third parties.
Rest assured that I am being as accurate as I can given the information available. The goal is to get the records and the actual cemetery layout in agreement and accurate.
