RE: Memorial # 41338357 & 41338286
Whenever you have 2 folks with the same name in the same place....it get's to be a thorny issue. But, I believe you are correct in your assumption. I have therefore reviewed my entries and have purged all files for Joseph L. Thompson being married to Lucinda Askins. Files removed from Find A Grave, Ancestry.com and Rootsweb.
Thank you for bringing this error to my attention. If you find more, please do not hesitate to inform me.
Best regards,
Mike Askins

Thank you so much, Ludie. Two "Minnie Porterfields" about the same age from the same county could confuse the best of historians. I will check out M.E. Porterfield at Rhodes Chapel and try to get her full name on her memorial. I usually try to look up men by their initials, but I forget that they used to use ladies' initials on their stones also. I appreciate your help with this situation.

Is that the one from 1986? I have been doing some work with it, but am not up to the "M" yet. I can look as I need to look up names for someone else in the coming days.

If you would like I took some other Marquardt's that were in the same area. If they are related just let me know and I will transfer or at least link them. I created memorials for them.

Denise Brown Biard Ercole
Phillips Family
Hi Ludie,

I'm researching my son-in-law's family and trying to verify whether or not I've located the right Phillips family. His GG-grandmother went by the nickname of Creacy (Crecy). I know that her last name was Phillips, and that she married John J. Mills. I've located her death certificate and listed as her father is Billie Phillips. Found the 1860 census for William and Eliza Phillips family with a Lucretia baby listed; which would make the Creacy nickname make sense. I've seen Creacy's name listed as Lenita M. (on death certificates of her children), but wondered if this was a 'one in the same person' for me. Could you please let me know if you have any records that could confirm or not this relationship to the family I'm researching?

Thanks, Denise

RE: John McKee, Mason
Ludie: If you could please give me a little more information I will see what I can find out for you.

1. Where is John McKee buried and did he ever live in this area.(Clay,Overton,Jackson Co Tn)

2.Same questions as above for your G Grandfather Matthew Biggart Kirk. Also do you remember the Mason Lodge you checked with for information about him. I may be able to help you with him.
There are a lot of Kirk's that still live around here and maybe I can connect them to you.

Thanks
Rush Rich

The markers were standing when I took the photos. Looking at the marker it was up in the older part of the cemetery by the road and trees. It has been a while since I was last there.

Hi Ludie.

I do live in MS now, in Jackson.

There are folks in and around Philadelphia, MS that repair headstones. I wish I could. I'd love to learn how. :-)

RE: Garland Adams transfer request
Hello, please use the "edit" tab when requesting transfers or making suggestions so that members can go straight to name in question without having to look it up. It helps to prevent wrong identification of request and identifies the requestor better as well. Typo's happen. Its better to use "edit" tab. Using it is preferred standard procedure by most members as well. Thank you.

I transferred Robbie since she is your cousin and kept Bardy since he is my mothers cousin but I linked them before transfer. I guess you can say "we split the difference" I haven't added her parents as yet. I thought you would rather do that in case you have personal information. Are you living in the Lufkin area?
