Find A Grave Memorial# 31704923

Would you like for me to send you the info for all his siblings and children? I can send it in word or PDF.

Added by Jeanetta on Apr 20, 2015 9:58 AM

Thank you, I am trying. There are several others that I have info that could be added for family members. This could become addictive!!

Step and Lela Roberts
Thank you for making the correction on Step Roberts memorial page and for transferring Lela Roberts memorial page to me. I have added her siblings names and the marriage date for Martha Kirk and William G. Teal. Thank you again.

Step Roberts
Can a correction be made to Find a Grave on the Step Roberts and Martha Teal connection? The line that reads "By 1900 Martha had married Step Roberts" is wrong. This is referring to Martha Ann Teal. Step Roberts was never married but once and that was to Lela Kirk Roberts. Martha Ann Kirk Teal was the mother of Lela Kirk Roberts so she was the mother-in-law of Step. She was first married to James William Kirk (they had 3 daughters, Laura Arabella Kirk, Minnie Kirk and Eulalia 'Lela" Kirk) and second she married William G. Teal (they had sons Tom and Jim Teal). Thank you.

Step & Lela Roberts
Step & Lela are my grandparents. I would love to talk with you about the Kirk family history. We never knew much about Lela Robert's family, except for the one sister, Minnie. She was very young when her father died and I don't think she knew much about him. My email address is

I didn't see your second message until I made the transfer. As such, feel free to delete the memorial as you see fit.

Have a good day!

RE: Louderback memorials
Glad to link them! Has anyone realized that Barbara and Elizabeth's birthdays are both 1811? One in February and one in April. If you are able to find out which is wrong, let me know. If it is Barbara, I will be happy to change it. Thanks.

Thank you so much Ludie for transferring my grandmother's memorial over to me and thank you for all that you do and have done for Find A Grave.

You mentioned about the lettering being almost the same as the stone itself. It is absolutely impossible to photograph a black granite marker without getting yourself in the photo! So aggravating

Hill girls
Hi Ludie:

As best I can remember - the Hill markers were located in the middle of the cemetery. Don't know if that helps you any. On the older markers I spray them with water & brush them in an attempt to be able to better read them.

RE: Sarah Hargove photo request
I sure dont. I have never gotten down to that part of Texas and dont have any idea how big the cemetery is. I am sure it is very large though.
If I can get the office to give me the plot i will send it to you. It will be tomorrow before I can call.
Thanks so much

RE: Memoril #84472761 edit
This stone is for a wife, son or daughter of William Ruddle that was born ca 1810. The part of the stone with the name and relationship is broken off.

Rudy book
Thanks, We actually contributed to that book, tho he never acknowledged in print either our photos that he used or our historical facts/contributions that he used. Just be careful and verify what you use, as there is both missing information and errors in it. Wonderful resource, from a time when ancestor research was done by letter, phone and in-person visits to archives and cemeteries. But check the relationships with online historical documents as so many new documents have become available since then.

RE: Memorial # 41338357 & 41338286
Whenever you have 2 folks with the same name in the same get's to be a thorny issue. But, I believe you are correct in your assumption. I have therefore reviewed my entries and have purged all files for Joseph L. Thompson being married to Lucinda Askins. Files removed from Find A Grave, and Rootsweb.
Thank you for bringing this error to my attention. If you find more, please do not hesitate to inform me.
Best regards,

RE: Memorial # 67235935
Thank you so much, Ludie. Two "Minnie Porterfields" about the same age from the same county could confuse the best of historians. I will check out M.E. Porterfield at Rhodes Chapel and try to get her full name on her memorial. I usually try to look up men by their initials, but I forget that they used to use ladies' initials on their stones also. I appreciate your help with this situation.
