RE: Purtee
Hi Adrienne!!!!

Thank you so much for doing this! Carlos Purtee is indeed the headstone I am looking to have photographed. Connie is his wife and she is still living. They are my aunt and uncle.

Cheryl (Cheri) is their daughter-in-law. She tragically died in a car accident and her husband is still recovering. A headstone may not have been set yet.

Hi, I took the information from her Missouri cert. of death #10889. Her husband is listed as J. E. Sexton. I also have a James Elexander Sexton #26959 Both are buried at Bethleham cemetery. Listed on find a grave is a James E. Sexton, this may be the same person. It has Goldie Sexton listed as James's wife.

RE: Bennetts
We went to Alamo Cemetery, Rose Hill and Oak Grove too. Spent the most time at Oakland, though, and thought we had looked at every stone. Obviously we missed at least a couple.

Don't know if you're on Ancestry, but I have Willis' brother George and descendants there. I think George is findagrave.com memorial #117436756. I've tried to post the links to his two wives and children, etc. Don't know if they came through yet.

I just looked at Dock and realized I haven't done much research on him. Don't know why. I've always loved his name.

Bennetts
Adrienne,
Which of the brothers do you descend from? Looks like we are distant cousins! James Francis Bennett was my 2X great-grandfather. I've been trying for years to locate his father, Willis' family in North Carolina. My grandfather told me that Willis and his brother George and their wives came from NC. I have all sorts of descendant information on Willis and George, but can't seem to move back in time.
I was at Oakland Cemetery in May with a cousin, and we walked through searching for family headstones. We found quite a few, and I don't know how we missed Sarah Frances or Fanchon. I was also looking for Samuel who was born around 1858 and died before 1870. Any chance you have a photo of his headstone?
Thanks again.

Thank you!
I am so excited to have the photo of my 2X great-grandmother's headstone, and the one of her daughter Fanchon's headstone. It's taken me years to learn where they were buried. Thanks again.
