Find A Grave - Requesting Links or addition of more info

Added by klassikat on Apr 06, 2015 9:22 PM

RE: V Alma Boone & Jessie S Walker
Do you know the new way to request links and/or birth/death information etc? And there is a possibility that others like me have sent you things to add to a persons site. If not, I'll try to walk you through it.

She looks like a very sweet person.

RE: V Alma Boone & Jessie S Walker
Looks like Thera is now linked. Edgar is still not linked. Mrs. Boone's husband was William V. Boone. I looked for him too but couldn't find anything.

Missouri, Marriage Records, 1805-2002
NAME: V Alma Sims
SPOUSE: William V Boone
MARRIAGE: 25 Apr 1910 - Jackson

A family tree has him as William M Boone and born as Sept 1878....not death date given. 1930 census also has him a William M.

Love records..:)

RE: V Alma Boone & Jessie S Walker
If you can tell me the children's names including the girl's married names, I'll see what I can find.

Also, the multi-colored flowers are mine. I carry them when I go to photo graves in case the person doesn't have a marker. I use it as a reference point. And yes...neither have a marker.

Very sad.

RE: V Alma Boone & Jessie S Walker
HA HA,,,that wasn't to clear was it. The multi-colored flowers are for Mrs. Boone and her sister is to the right of those. :)

Thank you - I am sorry to hear that Mrs. Boone does not have marker. In reading your message and with Mrs. Boone not having a marker - is the space with the marker & white flowers for Jessie S Walker and the multi-color flowers where Mrs. Boone would be interred? Or am I reading your message entirely wrong (isnt' hard for me to do).

Hi again, Regretfully, Mrs. Boone doesn't have a marker. Side note, her sister Jessie is buried to the right of her. I've added a photo with an approximate locate for Mrs. Boone and also added it to Jessie's site. Best regards.

You're welcome. It may take me awhile to get to the cemetery as it depends on the weather...and how I'm feeling....:). Getting old...ha ha.

Boone, V. Alma
Hi, I finally heard from the sexton of the cemetery and Mrs. Boone is buried there. I've sent you location via the new system. I'm going there in the near future and will look for her marker and if there is one, I will add it to her site and let you know.

RE: Edith May Waughtel
I guess I read your message incorrectly. Sorry about that. I have put in an inquiry to see if Mrs. Boone is buried where you have her added on the site. I"ll let you know what they say.

RE: Edith May Waughtel
Hi, The family tree I found on Ancestry says that Edith was born and died in 1903. I was just passing on what I found since you wanted dates for her that were unreadable on her memorial marker. On the tree, it says that the parents that are linked to her site are her parents so I'm sure it is the same Edith. But trees can have errors in dates and relationships. I thought you could then call the cemetery she is in and ask when she was buried and they may tell you 1903 or a different date.

My thoughts. I do take photos but in my opinion, I feel it is up to the person who adds someone to the site to know for sure where they are buried at least.

If they aren't sure where they are buried, I am always in hopes that a call is placed to the cemetery to find out and if they are there, that the person gets their location and then adds them to F.A.G and put the location under the "Plot" link on the person's site. Some, but not all, cemeteries have phone numbers listed under the main page for the cemetery. If no phone number is listed, one can try googling to find one.

And then once added to the site, on the right it says, "Request a Photo" click on it and submit a request for a photo. Then you hope a volunteer will claim the request and get a photo if there is a marker....or at least the general location if there isn't one.

That is the my feeling as to how to use this site. However, I will call and find out if she is there. If she is there, depending on her location, I will try to get a photo. If she is on one of the huge hills, then I won't be able to. I get vertigo.

I hope I haven't offended with all the above. Just my thoughts as I don't think it is up to the volunteer to confirm if a person is buried in the cemetery they are listed under on the site.

Best regards.

Your message to me.

You sent me a message referencing the above and that I might wish to check a "tree" on Ancestry referencing a family which might be hers. It is, but so far I have found no information regarding the above person.

Also you mention that you take photos at Old Tacoma Cemetery. I just uploaded a picture of a lady who I believe may be buried there but not sure how to go about checking it out. Her name is Mrs. V. Alma Boone and her Memorial#142198762. Would you be able to get a picture of her resting place? Or do you need more information. She was a sweetheart. She took care of my children from 1962 until she entered the hospital in 1970. I will be writing up her obituary soon. Thank you.

I'm sorry, I don't have any information. I just saw the request and was nearby. It was helpful that the plot number was on there so it didn't take me long at all to find. Best of luck with finding more info. =)

Clarence Waughte Memorial
HI Antoinette,
Just a note to let you know I've replaced the photos for the Waughtel memorials and The Horn family. The old ones were taken in the fall. These at least have green grass in them.
While there, I couldn't find Clarence(he has a flat marker and I asked a man gathering the flags of veterans if he had seen the one for Clarence. He went to the shed and checked and helped me find him. As it turned out he said he lived next door to Clarence when he was a kid! His last name was Oberdorff.
Have a great day! Virginia

RE: Memorial# 122178483
Thank you for your message, I have removed the duplicate memorial. The reason why I had him in Mountain View was I happened upon a microfilm of their records, his name was one among many I entered. Honest mistake on my end.
