your dad's memorial
Ms. Collins,
I am Addie Mae Buttercase's daughter. I just read about your father's memorial. I wanted to make sure that this was taken care of. You definitely should have ownership of this and my mom would 100% agree.
If it hasn't been handled, please let me know and I will try to find her passwords for findagrave to go in and make the transfer for you.
Good luck in your genealogy quest! And thank you for your thoughtful words about my parents accident.

RE: memorial 3232286
The method for requesting a transfer is the same regardless if the graver is living or deceased. See the FAQ:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?

See step three - click on the Edit tab on your father's memorial and then the first link to Suggest a Correction or Provide Additional Information. Simply state:

"This is my father's memorial, please transfer it to me."

Using this method will automatically include a link to the memorial and to your profile page.

Make sure you click the check box to send a copy of the request to yourself.

One of her relatives has monitored the emails (in the past) and will make the transfer (most likely), but if nothing happens in 30 days, then forward your copy of the request to the "edit" address listed in the FAQ:

How do I contact Find A Grave?

Hope that answers your question.

RE: bonnie williams collins
There have been 2-3 cemetery books published on Trinity County cemeteries. The online list is on the Trinity County website at

I'll work on transferring the Collins memorials to you.

RE: bonnie williams collins
I entered names for the Pennington Cemetery based on the cemetery book and the online list. I have no further information on Ms. Collins. Would you like me to transfer this memorial to you?

Addie Mae Buttercase
Your Dad's name
Dear friend, I have made the correction on the memorial. If you want me to, I will be glad to transfer the memorial to you. I can also remove my picture. What I do is if I go out on a request, I take a few of the other surrounding stones. I have had quite a few people that were glad I did. This cemetery is close to our deer lease so I go there in the fall. I don't have any idea about correcting a headstone spelling. I would suggest you call several places that sell headstones. They may be able to carve out a shape that includes the whole name and then inset a new carving. Just a suggestion. That's bound to be cheaper than a whole new stone. I know how upset you must have been when you discovered the mistake. If we transfer, then you could add your own bio for your Dad. Let me know, it's easy to do. Later, addiem
