RE: harvey hosier
There are plenty of small cemeteries in this immediate area and all close to where I live.
Parryville, Packerton, Union Hill, St Matthews, Franklin Heights, Dinkey, Big Creek, Bowmanstown, Catholic and we have a small Jewish cemetery next to Bunker Hill Cemetery and that is not all of them.
PS if you have any other photos that need fixing just email them to me.

RE: harvey hosier
I double checked both Gnaden Huetten and Lehighton records and Harvey Hosier is not listed.
It may be possible that when some cemetery records were lost through fire that is why he isn't accounted for. If there was a stone there isn't one now. I took pictures of each stone at both cemeteries and I don't have anything for Harvey.

Don, Thanks for finding this stone, which I have been looking for for many years. Do you know of any other Veldrans in Pleasant Grove?

harvey hosier
hello
i just sent you an email with a photo i fixed.
i didnt pay attention to that harvey is your memorial. i was trying to add a photo someone had requested. I have the records for both gnaden huetten cemetery and lehighton and harvey is not listed as being buried here. I also took pictures of all headstones in both cemeteries and i dont have a photo. however, i did find three newspaper articles about his estate but not an obituary.
How do you know Harvey is here and not buried with his wife? Thank you for your time.

RE: Hannah Tenbrook
Hi, Don:

I haven't forgotten this. The Periwinkle Initiative's National Burial Database of Enslaved Americans is supposed to release its directory this month, and I asked to be put on the distribution list. I am hoping they will have something that helps clarify this issue.

Assuming they are one and the same person, this is what I'm thinking of doing: I'll leave my memorial up for people who are searching under "Hannah Tenbrook", since she is so often referred to by that name, but the first thing I will put on the memorial page is information about the confusion over the name with a note directing people to the memorial you've created with the photograph of the marker.

I suspect that even if we decide the name and marker you have should be considered "correct", if I were to delete this one someone else would come along and re-create it on the basis of the many accounts of her death that give this name.

It's an odd situation, but a very compelling one, Thanks for your patience.

RE: Hannah Tenbrook
Thanks. You do such nice work with these photographs.

There are some interesting organizations like www.vanishinghistory.org, which used to be a Fordham/Yale project but is now part of the Periwinkle Initiative, which keep burial records on enslaved and emancipated persons. I will try to free up some time in the next few days to see if they know anything useful, and I'll let you know.

Philip Beck (1776-1841) # 52352561
Hi!

I was wondering if you would mind if I request a transfer of this memorial to me or request a merger with mine which I created in 2004 (at the time I create it I listed his last name as Beck- it is my understanding that he changed it later from Beck to Peck).

Philip Peck is brother to my 4X great grandmother Anna Maria Beck #9295117 who married Jacob Reimel.

Here is a link to my memorial to Philip Peck

I hope you don't mind. Many thanks,

BeBe/Bertha

RE: Anita Reed
I have seen something happen like that a couple of times. When a person "Suggests an edit for relationships" the screen displays both the established links and blanks. Very occasionally I have seen the program blank out the established link[s] when forwarding the new suggested link. Sounds like something like that happened here, as I made no suggestions about her father. Anyway, it looks like the link to her husband has now been established via another route, and all is well in Pleasant Grove!

John D Lewis
Mabel Snover Lewis #140111966 is listed as being the wife of John D Lewis.

She was also supervisor music & art teacher in Covington, PA in 1908-1912. It could have been longer but the records I found were for those dates.

John D Lewis was born May 23, 1888, son of Eber Lewis and Marcella Harned. died 14 MAR 1951 Sayre, Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA.

His death certificate says he was buried in Gray Cemetery on 17 Mar 1951. I don't find him on your list. Do you know if he is buried there?

Thanks for the Meeks pics
There should be a fourth marker there for Lois Jean Meek.

Someone created a virtual cemetery entry for her because they clearly did not know where she was buried. It is here:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=9301012&ref=acom

I've tried contacting them to no avail and I'm not sure how to get the picture and the correct cemetery sorted out. Perhaps you can help? She is the sister of Donald Meek, daughter of Howard and Lois Meek.

Thanks so much

Ruth

Thank you, I could not locate the graves of the parents either, at this point. The Bio section is fine.

Ah, okay...I stopped at the flagpole (and did everything west of there) in case you are still working your way west. I may do one or two more rows. I love how neat and tidy the rows are there!

That's funny, Don! I don't often "mow the rows" but I really wanted to capture the oldest stones there. What are you working on in Caroline Grove?
