|Ann Newell Duff||LouAnn Newell|
LouAnn was the older sister of my grandfather, Jesse Franklin Newell. After Jesse's wife died in 1921, he gave his two children away to be raised by other family members. My dad went to live with George W. Newell in Chatt. However the daughter named Rosalyn was given to some other family. I'm trying to get any info on Rosalyn. I know at one point she lived in California and had a daughter named Toni, now about age 68. I know Jesse lived with LouAnn for a time so I'm thinking that some of her family might know about Rosalyn. Thank you for any help.

I believe you put him in the wrong DAVIS cemetery.
According to his death certificate he is buried in the Davis cemetery in Sequatchie County. However, there are two Davis cemetery and Davis Chapel.

Whoops, I now see that it was a one-place-or-the-other thing. Gotcha, so have now posted the photo for William, too, though it's at Springs Chapel. I did take closeups on the name/date inscriptions, but didn't want to crowd out other photos that you might want to add later. Let me know if you want them, though.

|Ed & Susan Dunn||William E. Mathis|
Hi Sharon, We have done quite a study on this person and wife. My wife and I have come to a decision regarding these two graves. The info you enterer is somewhat correct on your end and our findings are somewhat correct on our end.
Here are the findings:
Both graves are in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Wm is in #291-D. Macy is in grave #290-D. Her gravestone has no inscription, it looks like an old piece of some old broken headstone that has been placed to mark her grave. Williams has been engraved. Here is what it says. William Matthews, born 1884, died 1952. On his death certificate, it says born 1884 so we are thinking we have the right one except for the last name being Matthews instead of Mathis. We are sure on our end that this is the right person. In the Rhea County Cemetery Books it reads Wm. Mathis in grave 291 so it is our deduction that the headstone maker made a mistake on the last name or that somewhere along the way there was a name change. Could that be possible?
In my wifes family when they came from Canada to USA their name changed from Poirier to Perry. I am going to post the gravestones and if you want them removed just let me know, It would be no problem. Ed

Are you, by chance, Eunice's daughter? Elbert and Dalton's granddaughter.If so, I remember you as a little girl. Your Aunt Sue was my best friend from the time we were 10 and 11 years old until her death. It is awesome to connect with you.

I am the sister of Eva Grace Adams and I was so happy to see the photo of her marker. Our Mother, Margaret Wright Cook is interned in the grave next to Eva, but I could not find her in your list of memorials. Could you possibly add her to your list? Thank you so much for maintaining this memorial. It is heartwarming to those of us who can not visit the grave sites of our loved ones in person. God bless you.
