Grace (Biskup) Moriarty
I see that you had requested a photo of the grave of my aunt, Grace (Biskup) Moriarty. I would like to know if you know how she is related to your relatives in Poland.

My grandparents, Antoni Jacob Biskup and Apolonia Katarzyna (Cichon) Biskup came to the US from Poland. I know that Antoni's parents were Michael Biskup and Katarzyna (Szefran) Biskup. I do not know the names of Apolonia's parents.

Antoni was first married to Julianna Pelczar in 1904, but she died in 1906. They had one child, who was stillborn at birth.

He then married my grandmother, Apolonia, and had 5 children: Grace, Frederick, Olga, Elsie, and Ruthe. My mother was Elsie.

I believe Antoni came from Korczyna, Podkarpackie, Poland. Apolonia came from Wadowice Dolne, Podkarpackie, Poland.

I have a public tree on under the user name braleigh183.

I would be very happy to correspond with you to share further information about our Polish family.

Thank you.

I am very interested in the Wojtowicz (Joseph & Regina) memorials that you created from the Krosno Cemetery. They may be my Great Great Great Grandparents but I need to know death dates or burial locations to verify. Do you know how I can contact the cemetery? Feel free to email me directly.

Thank you very much!!

I think I may have your Pelczar relations in my family tree in the USA.

Can we compare trees? Do you have a Jan born about 1875 who left for the US? Perhaps his brother was Wojciech?

Thank you!
Jen :-)

RE: Gravestones of family Dziedzic and Moriarty
Hi. You are very welcome. I'm glad I could help you. I can do more also.

There are additional Dziedzic family members buried there. John J., Nelie C., Donald J., Daniel J., Josephine R...

There are many names in that cemetery that seem Polish to me. Pelczar, for example. Additionally, many French and Irish names.

I took photos of Maurice J. Moriarty (1912-2001) as well. He was likely the son of the Maurice who was born in 1870. When that Maurice A. Moriarty passed away in 1917, Maurice J. was five years old. Maurice J. was a World War II veteran. I tried adding him to Find a Grave for you so I could then add the picture of his marker. I was not successful. If you make the request, I will claim it and add the picture for you.

Are you in contact with your relatives in Newmarket, New Hampshire? I do not know them, but they likely live within 20 minutes drive of my home. Newfields and Newmarket are small towns. We are only an hour and a half drive from Boston, but our towns are not very densely populated. Newfields has about 2000 residents.

RE: Stary Cmentarz Krosno - Katarzyna Oszajca
Thank you for your kind reply. The maiden name was so distinctive that I thought it might be a relation. Thanks also for taking the time to keep the past alive. For those of us who cannot travel to the old country, it's good to see someone trying to bring parts of it to us.

Beverly Kirk
Swiebodna, Poland
HI Zosia...I did not ask my question correctly. I should have asked if you could tell me the Catholic custom for burials in 1865 approximately. Since I did not find a cemetery in Swiebodna, where would they have taken the body for burial? The local Diocese which would be where?

Hello, my name is Beverly. I live in Texas,USA. My Bapka was Anna Stanik who immigrated to USA in 1907.She was from Swiebodna. I am currently in Jaroslaw trying to find out where her parents (Pawal and Katazyra Wywrot Stanik) might be buried. They were Roman Catholics. I drove to Swiebodna and around the surrounding area today but could not find any cemeteries. I would guess Pawal was born about 1865. I do not know when he died.

Can you help me? My email is

Your English is excellent for a person who's first language was not English!

Go ahead and add the extra names for Calvary in Newmarket. When I go, I will try to do them all at once.

By the way, my husband's mother is part Polish. Her mother's maiden name was Kurtika.

Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket, NH
Dear ZGA and others on this thread,

I live in Newfields, New Hampshire, about two miles away from the Calvary Cemetery in Newmarket, NH. It will be my resting place someday, and I have a child buried there. I am willing to go and take these photographs for you.

Springtime is just beginning here. The grass is brown and it is still cold out, but not freezing. I will wait until late May so the spring clean-up has begun and the grass is green. I will try to do all of them on your list.

Our Memorial Day holiday weekend is May 24 - 26. On that day in the U.S., we honor our deceased loved ones, especially those who have died for our country. People go to the cemetery and place flowers and flags. Those who maintain the cemeteries try to have the grounds in nice condition for that holiday. So, I will try to do these photos for you in the week before the holiday.

Please send an email directly to me on May 17 or May 18 to remind me that I have planned to take the pictures that week.

Regards from the U.S.

I have a friend who I grew up with, whose name was John Polchlopek. His father was Tadusz Polchlopek. Some of these Polchlopeks are buried in the Polish National Cemetery, New Bedford, Mass. Might they be some relation? (( Find-A-Grave - Massachusetts - Bristol County, New Bedford, Polish National Cemetery.

Hello Zosia,
You are very welcome for the obituary. I am glad that I was able to help. In case you didn't know before, now you know that Beatrice had a grandson named Jacob.

I think that it would be a good idea tp try to email the Aubertine Funeral Home to see if you can get any info on Beatrice. I believe that it is actualy "Aubertine-Lopes".

If you do, please let me know how you make out.
Good luck and warm regards.
