The Mikado, et al.
William Jennings Duckett
Found my copy of both messages, which, when I clicked on the link, went to here, with this memorial #:

76300058

They are both titled "Find a Grave Correction: W. Duckett"

W.J. Duckett, who died in 1994 and is Annie's hubby. My note below gives his full name and date/place of death.

The follow-up note indicates he was part of one of the orphan trains that came out of New York, and probably a comment to that effect or referring to this article would suffice in the bio. It even specifically mentions his wife, so there's no mistake this is the guy in both cases.

So I guess I'm not sure where the confusion is/was. When I clicked on the links sent, they went to his memorial...and this is clearly him.

Thanks!

Hi -

I've been perusing and working on the Hruska family.

Ancestry lists Annie as Anna Marie, so it would seem Annie is the nickname for Miss Hruska.

It lists hubby as William Jennings Duckett; it adds he was born in New York and "...he passed away on 12 Jul 1994 in El Campo, Texas, USA."

Thought I'd share.

Thanks!

Find A Grave contributor The Mikado, et al. has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for W Duckett.

Their suggestion:

Found this online and had to share...Zee

"There is an article in the May 1995 issue of The Brethren Journal submitted by Leland Miller of the Fayetteville Brethren Church about the Orphan Train. One of the trains left New York in 1904 enroute to Texas; stopping in the Fayetteville area. Mr. William Jennings Duckett was a child on this train. Mr. Duckett later married Anna Marie Hruska, daughter of Thomas Stephen Hruska and Anna Havlik. (There is a connection of the Hruska family and the Zabcik family.) This is quite an interesting story, told in Mr. Duckett's own words. Mr. Duckett died July 12, 1994 at the age of 99.

Pat"

p.s.: Just recently found an entire article on him:

It is very clearly our guy. Some great shots, too!

RE: Duckett, W J
Let me double check this, Luayne. I did a lot of work for several days and I could have just cut-and-pasted something wrong. I've got copies of all my request and will have to go back to it.

Danke!

From Find a Grave FAQs
"May I add a death certificate to a person's memorial page?

Death certificates may be added via the "Add a photo" button on the memorial page. Please select the option for "Other" in the "Type of photo:" to be added, as it is not a Grave, Person or Family photograph. NOTE: Death certificates do not necessarily contain completely accurate information about the deceased. There are often errors regarding the final burial location (as well as other data). [Top]"

Where did you see something to the contrary???
