Thank-you very much Mary!!! Share her with your DAR associates as well!!! Ranking her contributions to education, community, and the political scene will go a long way to assuring her memory will live on. As you think about how the printed book is being replaced by digital resources, e-books and the like, it is even more essential to historically mark when books were removed from institutional walls, and delivered by a common horse and wagon!
Mary's life is one to not only be admired, but emulated. Spread the word about the origin of our Nation's very first bookwagon and ensuing bookmobile. We really don't know how many decades later it would have taken for some other powers that be to devise such a farsighted operation.
Her memorial needs to be read, enhanced and shared with parents, children, grandchildren and school personnel. Imagine, from a home-schooled child, I learned about this woman whose favorite expression was, "Indeed" when Clara spoke of her father's declination of her wish to read a book!
Mary Lemist Titcomb most deservedly belongs in any and all Halls of Fame, Who's Who volumes and an integral part of our American education system. Wherever would we be without the availability of books?
Thank-you for your part in bringing this project to fruition!! Bless you!!!!

I am glad to help. Allen, Joyce and I have worked on Spring Hill Cemetery over the past year to make sure all of the graves in the cemetery are on Find A Grave. Allen and Joyce have added memorials and headstone pictures. I have added many memorials to this cemetery. When I have time, i have also researched families to link family members and to get other information. I did research your family.

I can transfer you the memorial if you delete your duplicate memorial. I spent so much time adding memorials to Spring Hill Cemetery. I do have family in this cemetery, but I also added other memorials.

Look at the upper right side of a memorial to find the edit feature. You should click edit, and you can leave a message about the memorial. The message will be sent to my email and will make it easier to make transfers. Edit is used to ask for a transfer or request that a correction be made.

Thank you for all the information that you sent me. I kind of feel like a one arm paper hanger attemping to link the individuals that you are siting in you Find A Grave message. It would be very helpful if you could please give the Find A Grave memorial number to each of these individuals that you have mentioned in your email. There is a great deal of information here, and I really want to add the information you have given. I am having a problem locating each individual on Find A Grave. The way most people go about making changes to memorials on Find A Grave is to go to each memorial and ask the manager of that memorial to make changes and links. When you ask for some to link parents to a child, it is very helpful if you give the memorial number. Also, I can only make changes to a memorial that I manage. I hope this helps.

Sorry about taking so long to reply but I found Jacob 05/15/1838 - 05/10/1915 and Mary M. 06/06/1842 - 12/13/1916 in the Acre Cemetery located on the south side of Mill Road about 600 feet east of Sherfick School Road. Mill Rd is 3.8 miles east of Shoals, IN on US-150.
I hope to be adding new locations to my Find A Grave listings as soon as possible so check back occasionaly.
