Feel free to use anything I post on here for your own tree. I took those pictures a few years ago as there was a request posted on here. I'm not as mobile as I was then, but if I get back to that area, I will take a look. Have you hit the request a photo button for the others you are looking for?

No, as best I know, she has no headstone, at least not at the time I photographed the cemetery a number of years ago.

Of course you can. I just wish people would ask on my family photos. I believe the stone photos belong to those "residing with them".

Mary Lemist Titcomb # 124824856
Thank-you very much Mary!!! Share her with your DAR associates as well!!! Ranking her contributions to education, community, and the political scene will go a long way to assuring her memory will live on. As you think about how the printed book is being replaced by digital resources, e-books and the like, it is even more essential to historically mark when books were removed from institutional walls, and delivered by a common horse and wagon!

Mary's life is one to not only be admired, but emulated. Spread the word about the origin of our Nation's very first bookwagon and ensuing bookmobile. We really don't know how many decades later it would have taken for some other powers that be to devise such a farsighted operation.

Her memorial needs to be read, enhanced and shared with parents, children, grandchildren and school personnel. Imagine, from a home-schooled child, I learned about this woman whose favorite expression was, "Indeed" when Clara spoke of her father's declination of her wish to read a book!

Mary Lemist Titcomb most deservedly belongs in any and all Halls of Fame, Who's Who volumes and an integral part of our American education system. Wherever would we be without the availability of books?

Thank-you for your part in bringing this project to fruition!! Bless you!!!!

RE: Benell Family
Hi Mary,
I am glad to help. Allen, Joyce and I have worked on Spring Hill Cemetery over the past year to make sure all of the graves in the cemetery are on Find A Grave. Allen and Joyce have added memorials and headstone pictures. I have added many memorials to this cemetery. When I have time, i have also researched families to link family members and to get other information. I did research your family.

Hi Mary,
I can transfer you the memorial if you delete your duplicate memorial. I spent so much time adding memorials to Spring Hill Cemetery. I do have family in this cemetery, but I also added other memorials.
