RE: William Mannan (my 3rd great-grandfather)
I've been really searching for info on Margaret O'Riley Giles Mannan. I'll send an email with attachments for info I've recently found.

William Mannan (my 3rd great-grandfather)
I just noticed your comment on Margaret O'Riley (Giles) Mannan's record here. I agree - it is odd that we cannot find her husband William's grave!
I live in Oregon - visited Indiana two years ago; but (unfortunately) hadn't gotten far enough in my research to question this!
Do you have a tree at Ancestry?
Some trees show William Mannan's death as 1840; but I find both William & Margaret living with their daughter, Sarah Ann Wilson, in 1850 (in Cloverdale, Putnam, Indiana).
In 1851 William's mother, Letitia "Letty" Ford died (in Harrison County, Indiana).
In 1853 William's wife, Margaret, died.
In 1854 William's daughter (Sarah Ann Wilson) died, in Putnam Co, Indiana.
In 1854 there is alsoa marriage shown for a William Mannan marriage to Zilphia Ann Hall, in Putnam County, Indiana.
Since Zilphia was born 1792, and our William was born 1785, it seems like he did make a second marriage, at age 69.
I wonder if that marriage took him to another location??
I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

RE: Omer barber
Are you referring to Omer David Barber son of James Barber and Muriel Newby? I really would like to know more about this family as I have very little on them. Would you be willing to share information on this family? Thanks for contacting me.

RE: Avis and Burdett
No headstones, have made no request on Find A Grave. She, (Avis) would have been my grandfather's grandmother. No photos. The Vaughn family is not related to me, she remarried after the death of my great great grandfather Isaac Jacob Dubler. Using your E-mail will send you all I know. Bert mentioned in the newspaper article is my great grandfather Herbert Jones Dubler. Both newspaper articles are not good moments in either of our family history, but I find it interesting and different. A more personnel insight other than just general info you usual find looking in past family members

RE: Neese
Sorry for the long rely in they reply, the Findagrave system did not inform me of your message, that I just found.

John Neese's parents were John Neese (b 1801 in Schuylkill Co. PA,) and Catherine Shuman (1797-1885.) this is a fairly well documented family.

Jay Wright
RE: Wright
Hi Jordon,

My Wrights were indeed VA-OH-IN, but I don't know anything about George Washington's aunt. Wright, of course, was a common name, so there may be more than one VA-OH-IN line, and we need to be specific about counties. Mine were in Goochland Co, VA, then Bedford Co, VA, then Columbiana Co, OH, then Highland Co, OH, then Clinton/Howard Co, IN. Is that the same as your line?

RE: Wright
I'm not sure where you're getting that, Jordon, but that doesn't sound like my Wright family. If we don't connect there, does it help that I was a long-time Syracuse University professor, and Melvin Eggers (descended, I believe, from the Eggers family in Putnam County) was Chancellor of S.U.?

Conrad Job
Hi Jordon. I am totally confused and am hoping you can shed some light on Conrad Job. Documents and census info indicates his wife was "Mary Christenberry" and some people have her full name as Mary Catherine Christenberry. Your bio indicates his wife was "Sarah Christenberry" as does the headstone. DOB and DOD are identical. Do you know where the name "Sarah" came in?

Wright connection
Somewhere I have an article I downloaded or printed entitled, as I recall, "The Wrong William Wright?" There is apparently an organization called The Society of Washington Family Descendants, and about ten years ago some gut in California supposedly "proved" that one line of descent could no longer be members (but those who were already members were allowed to stay...), while membership was open to the other line. I wasn't impressed by the guy's so-called "proof"--

I have only five first cousins and five second cousins in all branches of my family--none in my branch of major interest, Minteer. In the Minteer branch I have only eight third cousins, then a more "normal" number of fourth and fifth cousins. I've got a long way to go to fill in all branches of the Minteer family out to fifth cousins, and realize that there is not enough time in my life to be thorough in the other 31 families in which I have fifth cousins.

But I do have about a dozen spreadsheets starting with fourth-great-grandparents, and whenever I come across a fifth cousin in any of those families, I try to get more info for their part of the family to add to the spreadhseets.
