|Dave Sorum||RE: Hazel Brokaw Sorum-Defrasne|
Thanks Dennis, Wow...that's interesting that you have family history from that far back. I would love to look at it when you get a chance. I just posted a picture on your memorial of her with her first husband and her five boys. I will forward whatever info I have when I get a chance.... Just leaving now to meet my wife for dinner. If it would be more convenient to call than type, feel free to call me if you want...my cell phone is 916-508-0151. Thanks again, Dave

|Dave Sorum||Re: Hazel Eulalia Dufrasne|
Hi Dennis, Thanks for maintaing this site. I am the grandson of Hazel Eulalia Dufranse who was born Hazel Brokaw in South Dakota and married first to my grandfather Bismark Sorum. Unlike my grandfather who died too soon when I was about 4, I was able to grow up knowing my grandmother and her second husband Julian Dufrasne who was also a wonderful man. I have found a bunch of information about my Grandfather Sorum's family, I have found very little about my grandmother. Although I have a number of pictures from my grandmother's early years and know many of the places where she lived, there is still much I would like to know. I will be glad to share these photos with anyone interested. I just signed up for this site I found while looking at ancestry.com, and not sure if there is a way for me to upload pictures and other info to this site.
By the way, I am also a retired Air Force veteran living in the Sacramento area. If anyone wants to contact me about this, my email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks.

Thank you for the information and it has been added so his mother is linked. Just for you information things would be much easy on members if you used the edit button on right corner of each memorial for updates such as these.
Thanks for your time

You're very welcome. I did have a good day. I spent a couple of hours in an old book shop which is one of my favorite things to do. I took a ride down to the Stoutsburg Cemetery in Mercer County just to check it out. I was hoping to get photographs of the other Brokaw gravesides. Unfortunately, there did not appear to be stones for the other members, but it was a beautiful spot in a rural setting. It was worth the trip.
There is a memorial page for another child of Joseph & Martha Brokaw. Her name is Puritan Hughes and she is also buried in Stoutsburg. I did request an edit to include her maiden name, but it hasn't been changed yet.

I added a death certificate to the memorial for Milton Forbis.
Some additional details:
- Place of death (Susan's Nursing Home in Trenton, Grundy Co, MO)
- Date of death is different than memorial (Jun 26, 1955)
- Mother's maiden name (Sarah E. Lovern)
- Informant (Walter Forbis...son? brother?)
- Burial date (Jun 28, 1955)
Hope this helps some-

All I can say is WOW. I just added them yesterday from the cemetery records. Someone had a photo request for Brokaw in a different cemetery, and I tend to look for the same names in other cemeteries, just in case. The thing with these Brokaws is as far as I can tell, there is just one big stone with Brokaw on it. I did not see any individual markers around it. So when I was in the cemetery records yesterday, I ran across the name and decided to add them. Will get a photo of the stone next time I'm up that way. As far as the dates go, records have been wrong, but I would have no stone to say different. So will make your corrections. Did you know they were there?

I've been photographing stones in the Germonds Cemetery in New York.
The dates for both the birth and death of Mr. Evans differ significantly from the memorial you created.
I added the photo but did not edit the dates.
I also added photos for a number of Brokaws buried there.

Dennis - consider it done. I've got the same percentage with my maiden name Rivinius. Anywhere in the world, you're related. Ancestor changed name in 1770 :-)
Have a good day

Hi Dennis. I just checked my edits and found you've already found the entries I just put in. I'm not related to them, just took photos of all the grave markers in that cemetery. If you would like me to transfer them, please let me know.
