|James Bianco||Samuel Bliss - 126471607|
Thank you for your message concerning Samuel Bliss. While I am always more than happy to transfer memorials out of guidelines to Find A Grave members, I do prefer to continue to maintain those early memorials within my local area which predate c. 1800. I am an avid genealogist and work very hard to develop and interlink the memorials of our founding families (I have two lines who came to Springfield in the 1630s). If you feel you have additional biographical information you feel would benefit any memorial I manage, I encourage you to submit the details via the "suggest other" option under the edit button on that memorial. All the best, James

|Rosalie Jacques||Daniel Herbein 75785747|
Would you kindly let me know where you obtained the information on the children of Daniel Herbein.
I am interested in the possible child, Solomon Herbein. In your posting you have a Solomon listed in the probate to Daniel's heirs. However, under the CHILDREN listing, Solomon, Joseph and Moses are not mentioned. Solomon Herbein, born 1808 and buried in Hope Cemetery, Dryville, PA, is my great great grandfather. It has been extremely difficult to locate lineage past my Solomon.

Great photo of Morton's marker. It's nice to see it all clean. The marker is now in terrible shape and in need of attention by Hillside.
I will e-mail you the photo I took.

|Virginia from PA||RE: Searching for Susanna Herbein Hoch's Father|
What a quick and informative response!
After I sent my message, I started thinking about ages involved and wondering if Susanna was a sister or young aunt. Your additional input is very helpful.
I've known about my ancestor Esther Hoch (b. 1764 in Maidencreek) for 30 years, but with no parents and no location except her daughter's in Lycoming Co. PA. To my delighted surprise, in recent weeks, I have found many Oley families in my line. Esther Hoch was Susanna Herbein Hoch's granddaughter (through son Jacob b. 1738 in Oley). My Esther married Conrad Price/Preis (the son, b. 1752 in Ruscombmanor, Berks Co.) whose location had also been a mystery to me until a few weeks ago.
Thank you for providing some new directions for my research on these early settlers, many of whom are my own newly found family.

|Virginia from PA||Searching for Susanna Herbein Hoch's Father|
Hello and thank you for being willing to share your information. My 6-great's grandmother is Susanna Herbein (born 1702 Switzerland, died 22 Feb 1763, buried in the Hoch family cemetery in Oley Valley). She married John (Johannes) Hoch in 1720.
In the "Annals of Oley Valley", I found reference to Rudolph Hoch's eldest son, John (Johannes) Hoch marrying "a Miss Herbein". I know that her first name is Susanna because it is on her gravestone in the Hoch cemetery.
Were there more Harbein's in Oley Valley in 1720 than Jonathan's family? From what I have found so far, she is never listed as one of Jonathan's daughters, so who is she?
Anything you can share about Susanna Herbein Hoch would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

|fonda flamingo||Theodocia Gilbert|
Lois, thank you so much for your quick response. I am on day 10 after a total ankle replacement surgery. Therefore, I can not be completely certain of what it is I have sent to you. I think I may have made an error in what I wrote, but I did not save my message. During my bed confinement, I have been feverishly working on Find A Grave. I was so excited to find not one, but two, Theodocia Gilberts!
Hoping to see a nice merger between them! Oh, by the way, are we related?

|Sue Herbine||William Harrison and Mabry Herbein|
Said I would get to the corrections eventually and my life is sort of calming down except for the impending surgery. Couple of problems with your requests: I am not sure I agree that the Find A Grave site is William Harrison as he was born in 1849 (by census records) and that tom stone lists 1847 and 2 years off is a bit much. So unless you have a cemetery record that states his parents names or other proof I feel uncomfortable linking the record. Now on to Mabry. His father is William Harrison but his mother is Lucy Ann ? this is also confirmed via census records as she was living with him before she died. But again since we are not sure that memorial is William Harrison I am not linking it. Sorry. Sue

|Neil D Scheidt||Joseph and Esther Herbein|
Thanks for listing the children for Joseph and Esther. Do you want to create a memorial for Esther? Somehow she got missed.
I don't know the status with Susan, I have not been successful in contacting her either. Findgrave will make updates for you if memorial managers do not respond within a certian time period. They may also transfer the memorial.
As yourself, Sue has contributed so much for the Herbein family and she was one of those in-the-trenches people who made this site what it is today.
Happy 4th, Neil

|Grandma||Potteiger & Gilbert|
You asked about my connection with the Potteigers and Gilberts. I married a Potteiger and my mother is a Gilbert! We've done a lot on our Potteiger lines, so I wanted to work on the Gilberts as well. A lot has been done by my aunt, but there are gaps so I'm trying to find more. My mother's Gilberts lived in Syracuse, NY and from what I've found, they came from CT and MA. I'm still working on it.
Thanks for your work.

I have been taking photo's and adding the Memorials as I get time. I would prefer to retain the ownership of these Memorials until I finish with the Cemetery and at which point I would be glad to transfer the Memorials to your care. I would be glad to add any information that you would want to include in these Memorials, just sent it along.

|Diana in Pelham, AL||Sarah Herbein Schneider at Schneider Family Cemetery|
FYI - The death date should be 2/4/1833. She was married to Gideon Schneider/Snyder on 1/7/1827 per the tombstone reading.
Gideon is buried at Schwarzwald Reformed with his 3rd wife, Catharine Lorah. He died 1873, and a photo is on FindaGrave there. It is under SNYDER spelling.
You can link her to him in the relationship section.

|Bruce Speck||RE: Herbein search|
I am glad I was able to help you locate some of your family members. I found an obituary for Henry Herbine in the Lebanon Daily News that I attached to his memorial. Also, I linked him to all of his known family members on Find-A-Grave. His daughter, Annie Herbine Hoffa, and her husband and child, are buried next to Henry Herbine and his wife in the Schaefferstown Cemetery. I added tombstone photos to their memorials.
I have tombstone photos (20,000 +) for all of my entries in Find-A-Grave, but I just have not found the time to enter them. If you locate other family members that I have entered, let me know and I will try to locate the tombstone photo. Good luck with your family research and welcome to Find-A-Grave.
