RE: Jenny Carpenter Kylander
I've added all Carpenter's on the directory to FindAGrave, but that's not a definitive no on a burial for him here. I've found quite a few that ARE buried in Crown Hill, but not on the directory (By either headstones or newspaper stories).

Was he a widower? Was his wife buried in the area they raised their children, or used to live? I've found often times that a parent who was widowed, then moved to live near a child - when they passed on, they were taken "back home" to be buried with the spouse. Try that first.

I'll look in the newspapers and see if I can find anything about a G.W. Carpenter. Was his name George Washington Carpenter?

I'm sorry, I'm not related. I'm documenting the Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell, and doing research on those who came here, and why. If you need any research help in this area (I don't know where you live) let me know!

Maydean,
You are very welcome! I also posted a photo for his wife. She had a memorial without one.

George Carpenter
I am still looking for your George Carpenter. I was at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City NE today and he is not listed in their burials. Was he perhaps Catholic?

Elijah & Isabell Tilton
I have posted a gravestone photo for both Elijah & Isabell Tilton. Since they have a family stone the picture is the same for both of them. I took a couple of extra photographs so if you would like me to email them to you just let me know.

Thanks,

Julie Stevens

The Roman family
I forgot to give you the grave locations for Tony and Mary:

Tony 12-5-1877 to 12-11-1957 Sec 1, Lot 77, Grave 4

I have no listing for Mary, her year of birth and death are on the photo.

I have the dates of birth and death for the others:

Peggy 7-2-1939 to 1-3-1949

Ione 4-20-1913 to 1-3-1949

Phillip 2-14-1914 to 1-3-1949

Tony P. 2-9-1937 to 1-3-1949

The Roman family
I went out today and took photos of the gravesites. Margaret Roman does not have a headstone. I did verify this. Grandview cemetery records show that she should have one, but I actually verified it by looking at the plot records of the people that are buried around her. Her dates are 6-13-1881 to 1-14-1947. Also, check the dates listed on the headstones, as I think a couple of your dates are incorrect. I have a photo of another headstone for a Tony and Mary Roman (was next to the Roman family headstone). You can see it in the panaramic photo that I placed in each memorial page. Based on the dates of birth I think they are the parents of the Romans. It states at the bottom of the headstone "Buried in Boulder, Colo". Here is a link to the photo if you would like to use it to build a memorial for them. http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/zwvirtual/?action=view¤t=100_4513a.jpg

Hi Maydean,

I looked up the Roman name and the ones you listed, plus a Margaret are listed at Grandview cemetery. Will you be creating a Find A Grave record for these individuals or were you just wanting to get photos of them? If you're only wanting photos I will need your email address to send them to you. If you give me 2 weeks (standard time allowed for photo requests here on Find A Grave) I will take the photos.

Hi,
There Is only one carpenter listed at camp creek cemetery (Mrs George Carpenter) but it is not a complete list.
I walked the old part twice. The only stone I found was a broken stone the top was not readable the bottom from where the top has laid against it reads died May 26 1898, according to records it was the 23rd.
I tried to do some research all I came up with was George was born in Kentucky in 1832 and was living in Kansas with daughter Sophia in 1913 and all the rest of the children's names and birth dates.
If you would like a picture of this stone please let me know.

Laird pictures
Maydean,
Thank you so very much for the Laird pictures you put on my family entry's. They mean so much to me. In my ancestry I think the pictures and stories are what make everything come to life.
Thank you again.

Maydean:
I suggest you contact the Ottawa Herald Newspaper. They should be able to get you a copy of her obit or how to obtain one, maybe through the library.
As far as where William is buried I'm afraid I can't help you. You could try to contact Pomona, Ks. City Hall, as they are the ones with all the records as to who is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Darlene

Thomas "Tom" Buchanan Laird
Maydean,
Thank you so much for the beautiful photo you uploaded to Uncle Tommy's memorial and for notifying me. It was a wonderful surprise! You are very kind and thoughtful. Tommy and Rose were my Great Uncle and Aunt. I would love to help you identify the Laird photos you have. My mother and both of Tommy's and Rose's children are still living. Please send me your email address and we can exchange information.

Thanks again.
You made my day!

RE: Josephine Brooks Fetty
I just transferred your two family memorials to your name. I also had family who prior to living in Harrison County, Missouri had lived in Kansas, specifically Butler County. Several of those family members died of disease, so they are also buried separately. I have had a hard time researching vital records and such for Kansas. You may be able to get information from Josephine and Hattie's death certificates online. Go to the Missouri Secretary of State website and search for death certificates for Fetty. Best of luck!

RE: Josephine Brooks Fetty
I am so glad you found Josephine Fetty! I know how good of a feeling it is to find a member of your family tree. I do not believe that I am related to her, so if you would like for me to transfer the memorial to you let me know. I found my family members in the same, small cemetery and decided to add them to this online database. Your appreciation made my day -- and made my time very much worth it! Best of luck to you in the future.
