What cemetery are Ruthie & Woodrow in?

There are several ways to get a marker:

1st, if Mr. Woodrow was in the miltary regardless of what era where he may have served, he is entitled to a gravestone and there are several kinds. If my memory is correct, there are several choices and styles, bronze, granite and marble.

2nd, you may check with a mortuary and they may have used ones and all that they have to do is change the lettering. The funeral home that I know, donates them to me does not charge me anything. Now, if you want a new one, there is a charge.

3. You can talk with a monument company and they can make one for you but there is a charge as to what kind you want.

In some cases, I have found that the entombed people have their names on the side of the vault in the tomb. Mausolems are usualy locked and if
there is no known key I have seen that people get a marker and attach (with putty) to the outside of the mausolemm but if there are steps, I try to put the marker to the right or left and in some cases I have seen the markers put at the base of the stairs, etc.

Now that I have rattled enough, let me know if I can help.

I appreciate the info. Since he is your uncle, would you like for me to transfer him to you?

Could you give me more info on the Hagins line. My father is Solomon Hagans and mom Joyce Jarriel Hagans. They are in the Lower Lotts Creek Cemet. in Statesboro, GA.

Hi Gloria,
You posted a beautiful picture of Lenora.
I am hoping you can help me - are you kin to Lenora? Her father was Ephrim Helmly. Would you happen to know who his brothers and sisters are? or his parents? I have done a lot of research on him, but cannot find anything.
I would appreciate any info you can send my way.
Thank you,
Have a blessed day!
Linda

Since the time you left your note on his memorial, I have added an obituary. Thought you might be interested in taking a look.

Ok, I'll try to get a closeup soon. If you click on the photo it will show the dates good. Who are her parents and I will link her to them?

Hi Gloria, I don't have any pictures other than the ones I put on this site of my grandmother's brothers and sisters. There's one on Grandmother Sheppard's page of her with Aunt Maude and Aunt Minnie and the one in front of the house with the entire family.

I do remember Aunt Elma. She lived on 36th Street not far from Aunt Bessie Pryor (Daddy's aunt on his father's side). I remember that Aunt Elma had a little dog and I remember Daddy mentioning your mother but don't remember ever meeting her. Your name sounds familiar too. Did you live in Thunderbolt?

We are second cousins. We have great-grandparents in common. That's not really so distant.

Do you live in Savannah? I get down there fairly often and have a house there. My cell phone number is 678-770-0807. I plan to be down there again Mother's Day weekend.
