RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 45589728 - John Albert Dillon
No, I'm not related. The memorial was created by a friend of mine who could not continue her work with find-a-grave. However, the memorial for Mrs. Dillon was created by Tommy Neathery who is an avid findagrave contributor. He may have or be able to locate more information regarding Mr. Dillon's obituary. Hope this helps.

Hello this tree has my head hurting. Kingry, Burcham, Dillon, Callicoat, Null, Soward etc found multiple connections in my tree. Figuring out how related is nearly impossible to do LOL. What I know for sure is John Bailey Callicoat and Rebecca Dillon are my 4th great grandparents ETC. I see you have Nettie Alberta Dillon Zimmerman (1873 - 1955) here married to a Dillon with her father as William Cyrus Dillon & mother Elizabeth Soward. Trying to figure out where Zimmerman surname came in (I have more Zimmerman in my tree)?

Just noticed, brother and sister married another brother and sister. John Bailey Callicoat married Rebecca Dillon #144806315, she was a daughter of Samuel James Dillon. I guess that makes you and my husband, very distantly, double related :)

Mary "Polly" Callicoat Dillon #50772687
Hi Henry :)

My husband is a descendant of Mary's brother, John Bailey Callicoat #144805923. My husband's grandma (Joyce Callicoat Burgess) had always said before she passed away that she had a direct ancestor on her Callicoat side that was a Mingo Indian. Who that was exactly is still a mystery for us, but after reading your bio for Mary it solidifes the story of having indian heritage even more. Just thought you might find this of interest!

-Kind regards

RE: James Tagg memorial inscription - Kingry Cemetery
Thanks Henry for the suggestion. Closer inspection of the photo showed that the word was "waiting". I also mistyped Farewell. Both have been corrected.

RE: Carl V. Dillon
I'll keep note of this memorial and if the creator doesn't make the change in an acceptable amount of time, I will contact Find A Grave Admin to change it. Just don't delete the obit from his memorial, that will be proof they will need.

Thanks for your help!

Happy hunting,

RE: Carl V. Dillon
I sent an edit request to the creator to change the cemetery per the obit.

If you post a picture of someone it shouldn't post as a grave. There is also an option on the drop down to post a PERSON. You just have to be careful when you post pictures that you select the correct type!

Thanks, Bev

RE: Carl V. Dillon
Hi Henry, if you think he is in the wrong cemetery, we need to contact the creator of the memorial and have him put him in the correct cemetery.
The difference between the pictures shows alongside the name of the person on list of names in the cemetery. There are flowers depicting virtual flowers left, there are little blue headstones depicting headstone pictures, then there are little picture frames depicting actual pictures of people or obituaries, death certificates, etc. When you posted the picture of the obituary, there is a drop-down where you select where you browse for what you want to post. In the drop-down you will see the options to choose from. Obituaries should go under "other". When someone looks at all the names in the cemetery and sees the little blue headstone by the name, it appears there is a headstone picture on that memorial. Headstone pictures are also noted in the % photographed of the cemetery if you look at the top right of the main cemetery page. So posting anything other than a headstone picture under the "grave" option, effects that percentage.
Thanks, Bev

Thank you for posting a copy of his obituary to his memorial. However, you posted it as a "grave" photo instead of "other". Can you delete it and repost it please? Do you have a picture of his headstone that you can post? If not, I'll put in another photo request. Also, I notice on his obituary it says he was going to be buried at the Crotty Cemetery in Pinoak, but the creator has him in the McComas-Crotty in Pinoak. Is that the same cemetery? There is a Crotty Cemetery created in Find A Grave so if they are the same, we'll have to have Find A Grave merge them.
Thanks, Bev

RE: Harry Gordon Dillon cemetery photo
You're welcome. I'm glad I could help. The cemetery records say that an infant Dillon is buried in the same plot on 1/22/1966. I'm not sure if you know that, so I thought I'd pass the information along.

RE: Jremiah Hicks memorial
I can only assume my memorial is correct and that a marker did exist in the 1930's. This list of WPA readings for this cemetery was published in an old Monroe Co., OH Historical Society Newsletter I once subscribed to.

RE: Jremiah Hicks memorial
WPA stands for Work Project Admistration. It was a government project developed during the 1930's to create jobs. To me, reading cemeteries wouldn't exactly qualify as a job - but they did a lot of it. We have a rock wall around a cemetery where we live built by WPA.
