RE: Smith Marker, Cliffside Cemetery
Don't feel too badly. I've accumulated over 400 outstanding (unfulfilled) photo requests over the past two-three years. Anything that does get taken care of is a step in the right direction. Not every cemetery has a volunteer willing to photograph the stones. When you make your request and findagrave acknowledges it, you will see at the top of the page if there are "X" number of volunteers within "X" miles of the cemetery. If that message is not there, then there is probably no one signed up to take photos in that cemetery. All we can hope for is that someone, someday will sign up for that cemetery.

Smith Marker, Cliffside Cemetery
Your photo of the Smith marker is much appreciated and gave me information I did not have about Mrs. Smith's death and burial. I will add her memorial, and since I have exceeded the weekly allotment of photo requests, I'll not be able to request that this photo be added to her memorial. Hope you can do that as well, and I'm grateful for your help.

Lurcott lot in Green-Wood
I went out today and discovered 3 more stones for people not yet on Find-a-Grave. I also checked the burial search function on the Green-Wood Web site and came up with some more information:

With Augustus and Amelia Dods, there is a Hazel Annie Dods, buried August 20, 1895. Her name does not appear on the stone, but the stone has sunk considerably, so it could be below ground level.

Another stone inscribed on top: Father/Mother, bears this inscription on its front:
(her dates have sunk out of sight)
Samuel was buried Nov 4, 1903, and Elizabeth on May 18, 1937.

The third stone is a footstone bearing only the name "Ellen." I was unable to find an Ellen Dods or Ellen Cool, so I don't know her surname.

LURCOTTS in Green-Wood
LURCOTTS in Green-Wood
All in Section 145, Lot 24392
Amelia (buried 2/25/1961), Ann (buried 10/19/1901), Emily Amelia (buried 5/19/1938), George (buried 8/2/1940), George, Jr. (buried 1/17/1894), George, Sr. (buried 5/18/1900). The online burial search shows no 1967 Lurcott burials in this or any other Green-Wood cemetery lot.
All of the foregoing stones have already been photographed and uploaded. I can check the lot for any overlooked footstones or inscriptions, but the subject of your request does not appear in the online records.

RE: Yocum Headstones
Hi Jim, you are welcome. It was my pleasure. Such a lovely area and church grounds. Gave me the opportunity to cover new ground (for me) in Larchmont.

RE: John Rusinko
I don't know what to tell ya, Jim :)

On the Greenlawn website (, it has
RUSINKO, John L. 1922 - 1980

Maybe the one born in 1888 was his father?

If there are any memorials you need me to transfer to you, just say the word :)

Regards, Carl
