Hi John. I am not sure who B.M. is. I would be happy to help you with info on the younger generation. I am the daughter of Stanly P. Sargent. He is the son of Luther C. Sargent and Martha B. Sargent. When my dad's father Luther passed my father was only 8 years old and for a while Aunt "B" took him into her home and helped raised him. Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you so much for this photo. I was not able to make it down for the funeral of my Great Aunt "B". At least I am able to feel like I am there paying my respects to this great lady that I love so much.

I transferred these memorials (among others) to you since you sponsored them. Sorry but I did not see your edit requests until after I transferred. I can no longer make edits to their memorials so you will have to make the changes/additions. Let me know if you want any other transfers.

I have transferred this memorial to you. Since you are now sponsoring it and I am not related, I feel it is appropriate that you manage it. Let me know if you find other relatives or acquaintances among my memorials and I will be glad to transfer.

You sent this:
"Hi, I saw one record which stated that Jeremiah was the father of Gowan Clayton Sr. and grandfather of Gowan Jr. Maybe that is why Jr. paid for the care of Jeremiah. You also say that Gowan jr is the father of Sampson Clayton, 1809. Can you document this or is this a good guess? John"

Answer: There was a lady from Georgia who sent the info on Sampson, unfortunatley I cannot locate her name or the info since the move. I will keep trying, regards.

Thompson Clayton
Hello, you sent the following:

"Hi, Gowan Clayton, Jr., father of Solomon Clayton, was born in 1775, the son of Gowan Clayton, SR. and the brother of Thompson Clayton. Gowan Jr was the brother of my ggg grandfather, Thompson.
John Clayton"

There were two Thompson Claytons in Spartanburg District of SC in the early 1800's. The oldest died intestate and the younger went to Miss., he was born in 1820 and died 1886 in Miss. and married Patience Malinda Brashears Clayton. You stated that Thompson was the brother of Gowan, Jr., son of Gowan, Sr. Do you have documetation for that? Also Thompson Clayton in Miss. was Alfred Thompson Clayton married a I have searched hard a long to find out. Apparently Gowna, Jr. paid for an old gentleman named Jeremaiah Clayton in the Spartanburg District, SC old folks home. He is listed as paying for several years. I was wandering if you knew anything that can shed some light on this Thompson and Jeremiah Clayton situation. Regards and thanks.

Poteete and Goodson Family
I have made several transfers to you including those of Barbara and Rodger Poteete who I believe are also related to you and were duplicated.

My parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins are buried at Noonday. A few years ago I photographed the entire cemetery and added memorials for all the grave markers/tombstones I found there. It is so easy to add a duplicate. I usually search the cemetery listing on F.A.G. for the name before I add a memorial in the event someone else has already done so.

Let me know if you find any relatives among my memorials and I will be glad to transfer.

RE: Nellie Clayton
While Nellie Clayton Anderson and Nellie Decora Clayton Anderson are the same person, many would look for her full name, Nellie Decora. The might miss Nellie Clayton.
John Clayton

According to the Find A Grave guidelines, which on the left hand side of any memorial at the link "Help With Find A Grave", the title name on the memorial is what on the stone. If you feel that the name "Decora" needs to be part of the title, ask the member who made the original memorial to add it.

Please don't duplicate memorials as it causes more work for the webmaster and his helpers. Especially more work when you don't correct the problem after being notified leaving the duplicate for the helpers to delete or merge the it with the original memorial.

RE: Thomas Melvin McCollum
There are two memorials to Thomas Melvin McCollum, but one is the father and the other is his son.
John Clayton

My reply:

No, there two memorials of the son Thomas Melvin McCollum, Jr, who died in 1976.

One is the 2012 Find A Grave Memorial# 100936881 made by you, which is the duplicate.

The second one is the original Find A Grave Memorial# 50053246 made by Erica in 2010.

In the same cemetery, there are two memorials for Emma Irene Clayton McCollum.

One being, your duplicated memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 100936982 made in 2012

And, the original memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 50053248 by Erica made in 2010.

RE: Asenath Wiley
I did transfer Asenath. However, I did not create the other memorials you mentioned. I just supplied photos. You will have to send a transfer request to Cemetery Dawg as he/she is the owner. You can do this by selecting the EDIT tab on the near top right of the memorial. Then select make a suggestion. Then supply your request with your member number and why. Most of the time, if you're a relative, they will be transferred to you. However, they may be owned by a relative in which case you now have another cousin and resource for your own research!

Good Luck,

RE: Asenath Wiley, 54837400

In other sad news, I was over at Shiloh just about a week or two ago and there have been some vandalism. Stones broken, tipped and it's a shame. I don't know if you get to see, but I could not believe what they did. If only I could ever catch them in the act......

I updated as requested, would you like me to transfer Asenath to you? I always like to get them into their family's hands, where possible.
