Lizzie Wolf #70023689
Hi Billie,

I looked at the MO. D/C #22592 and think the way it is written her dads last name could be Goedeke instead of Gedeke.

Dau. Lillian Wolf Kruse #128008863, obituary shows her parents as Ernest and Louise Goedeke Wolf

Dau. Malinda Wolf Lightfoot, #22085322, obituary shows her parents Ernest H. & Louise "Lizzy" Goedeke Wolf.

Dau. Eleanor Wolf Weise, #33612442, obituary shows her parents Ernest H. & Elizabeth "Lizzy" Goedeke Wolf.

Therefore I think her name was Louise Elizabeth "Lizzie" Goedeke Wolf.

Thanks for reviewing this for me.

Hi,

In the obituaries of two of Ernest & Lizzie's children lists her name as Louise (Lizzie or Lizzy) Goedeke. Do you know if her last name could be spelled Goedeke?

Thanks for any information you have on this.

Hillipina Ewald #72194739
Hi Billie,

I am writing about the memorial for Hillipina Ewald, buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Norborne.
Could it possibly read Phillipina? It looks like a shadow by the H. I have been looking for Phillipina Pieron Ewald.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Find A Grave Memorial# 62177464
Look like you posted a photo taken by you in 2010 @ Hill Cemetery Carroll County Mo.

The stone appeared to be toppled and worn. From the image posted I can not make out the unit designation and something about Philippines.

I also put in a request for his parents stones which should be near by.

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GScid=29311&GRid=62177464&

This is my Great Grand Uncle, had no knowledge of him being in the Spanish American War. Can not find any rosters of Missouri units he was on. And from what I can find none of the Missouri units ever deployed overseas. And based off Date of Death I doubt he was in the Philippines Insurrection.

Thanks for your work.

S Hathaway
HATHAWAY family
Hi, Billie:

I came across your reply to my friend Sue Bennett's question and thought I'd offer some information.

Benjamin HATHAWAY (1699-1762) and his Unknown first wife were my 5th-great-grandparents. A marriage in either MA or NJ has yet to be found but they likely married before 1720 as that is when first son, Gershom, was born. His birthplace is not known and could be MA but is, most likely, NJ.

Benjamin and "whatshername" had nine children, at least eight of which were all born NJ:

Gershom
Benjamin, 1722
Rebecca, 1724
John, 1726
Joseph, 1728
Eleazar, 1731
Thankful, 1735
Jonathan, 1738
Benoni, 1743

Whatshername died between 6 Nov 1743 (Benoni's birth) and 14 Mar 1744 when Benjamin remarried widow Elizabeth (Mehurin) Crossman in Morristown, NJ. She brought her three children, Theophilus, Betty, and Joshua Crossman, to the marriage.

Benjamin and Elizabeth went on the have their own children:

Clemens, 1745
Abigail, 1746
Zephaniah, 1747
Job, 1748
Keziah, 1750

Hope this information is of some help to you and your research.

Regards,

S Hathaway

Hi, I see you left a note 'Ancester in my family tree on the above memorial in Cold Spring Cemetery. Are you related to the Douglass family and possibly the Tudor/er family of Baltimore Maryland? I remember some relatives from my childhood whose last name was Wolfe

Thanks,

Thanks, when I found that cemetery I was looking for a different one. It was not marked with a name, so I just got out and looked for the grave that I was searching for. It was in such bad shaple that I took photos of everything I could get to and read and then gave copies to the Carrollton Mo library and they told me it was WATSON. Going to Findagrave verified that info so I just added the ones that were not there. I doubt the cemetery will be there in a few years. It appears to have been flooded as the stones are all moved and piled and broken. Really the worst I have ever seen.

Have a great day.
