I am not related to, nor do I know, the Rolf family. If you are related and would like to manage the memorial, I will transfer her to you.

It's a shame it was lying in the ground, but at least it was face up. You're very welcome.

If you call Acacia Park Cemetery and Mausoleum at 773-625-7838 and:
1. Ask if your photo request person has a headstone / grave marker.
2. If there is a headstone / grave marker ask for the section, block, lot and grave number.
3. If you send that information to me, Susan (#48964989) I will go there and fulfill your photo request. Of course any other Find A Grave volunteer can also fulfill your request if you then add the headstone location information to your photo request page.
Good Luck.

RE: James Kenyon
You're welcome, Alvin. Yes, you can use my photo, thanks for asking. However, please be aware that the photo doesn't show a headstone for James Kenyon himself, since his grave is unmarked. It's a photo of where his grave is, in relation to nearby headstones. Let me know if you have questions, Amy

RE: Nancy Jane Brimberry Kuykendall # 165306833
Hi, Alvin!

Sorry for the delay.

George Martin Kuykendall was born about 1839, according to an 1850 Census I have. Also, Civil War records show his age as 22 as of 1862 - which would've made him born in 1840.

Louisa Adeline Findley Kuykendall, his wife, filed for pension, and those records indicate his death date as May 27, 1887.

His Mother, Sarah A. (Sally) Blythe Kuykendall, I have in the same 1850 Census and I found her in an 1860 Census - both in Cherokee, Alabama, USA. Her birth year, according to both census records was 1807 in South Carolina, USA. I do not have an reference of her death date, unfortunately: yet. :)

There were several Blythe sisters that married Kuykendall brothers in this time period, and it gets a bit confusing...

Will keep looking! Hope this helps!

Henry Kuykendall
Thanks for the additional obit, which I have added to his page.
No, I am not related to the family, although I know there are still family members in the area. At least there were some years back when I had a student with that name in a Topeka middle school.

I live in Berryton, in SE Shawnee County, and have been adding information to those buried in the small cemeteries near me as I come across bits and pieces in Topeka newspapers. I live nearest Lynn Creek Cemetery, but have photographed and researched burials in most of the cemeteries near my home.

Lyman Hemenway
Hey Alvin,

I fulfilled your photo request for Lyman G. Hemenway at Elmwood Cemetery only to discover that my memorial was a duplicate of memorial # 44663399.

I work from cemetery records obtained from the local historical society and have no idea why those records show the date of interment to be 2004 when Dr. Hemenway died in 1933.

I have now deleted my memorial and wanted to apologize to you for the confusion.

Cheers! Steve

Harrison Co. George W. Guilford.
Good afternoon, I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to identify the last resting place of many of our " Old Soldiers" who had ties to Vermont.George W. Guildford is one such soldier. Although his Find A Grave page lists him as born In VA (Virginia) He was born November 11,1843 in VT. (Vermont) He was credited to Vermont for his military service, although he served in the 10th IA Infantry.
James McGookin was also another such soldier, of a Lamoille County/Franklin County family that migrated west as a young man.I am asking you if I may use the photo's you contributed to the Find A Grave Memorial pages for these patriots, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( You would receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration

Nancy Jane Brimberry Kuykendall # 165306833
Hi, Alvin!

SO NICE TO MEET YOU!! :) I wanted to thank you for the further information on Nancy Jane and the beautiful photograph you posted to her memorial!!

I was adopted and the Kuykendalls are my ancestors of my biological family on my great grandmother's side.

My great grandmother was Mae Bell Kuykendall Smith - daughter of George Martin Kuykendall & Louisa Adeline Findley Kuykendall.

George was son of James & Sarah A. Blythe Kuykendall.

James was son of Abraham Westfall & Elizabeth Van Zandt Kuykendall.

Abraham was son of Cornelius J. Van Kuykendall & Marritjen Westvaal Van Kuykendall.

Cornelius was brother to Pieter Van Kuykendall, which is your line, I believe. They were both sons of Luer Jacobsen Van Kuykendall, first Kuykendall immigrant to the United States of our families.

So, we are relatives, but from WAY back!! :)

Pictures are golden to me. So, I truly appreciate you posting the photograph!!

Please let me know if I can help in any way! I'll be happy to!

AGAIN: SO nice to MEET YOU!!! :)
