Thank you
My name is Ruth Smith and I just felt like I needed to thank you for all the pictures you have taken - especially at Fairmount Cemetery here in Cape. I assigned myself the job of taking pictures of all the graves at Fairmount this year and just completed that task. In doing this, I ran across many that you had taken and you made my job easier. So again, thank you and I loved your bio with the connection to law enforcement.

I just read your message. I will check into it. Her certificate stated that cemetery. But there were a lot of errors with that certificate.

RE: Hollingshead Family Members
They are buried there. When we moved to CA. we moved to El Monte and we visited them a few times. He was a caretaker at a small airport. He had someone take me up! So exciting for a 16 year old.

RE: Hollingshead Family Members
I am sorry but I live in CA. These Hollingsheads are relatives of mine - my great grandfather was George Washington Hollingshead.

Madison James
I found a marriage record for Madison J James and Adelphi A Lankford on the Dyer County web site. They were married Dec 26, 1869 in Dyer Count, TN.
Also found a John M James who married Eliza I Lankford Apr. 15, 1877. Could they be brothers marrying sisters? I also found the 1880 Census on the same site. As you noted, Madison(age 30) and wife Delphia (age 24) were living in Dist. 6 of Dyer County. Children listed were: George A, age 8, Robert Lee, age 7, Sarah L, age 3 and Milton H, age 3 mo. (born in Mar). It also indicates Madison and Delphia's parents were both born in Tn. and that Madison's occupation was a farmer. I'm not sure where Dist. 6 is in Dyer Co., but there is probably a map of the county somewhere on the site that will show the districts. You have to be careful of their site, however, or it will direct you to sites that charge for help, when it is provided free on other places. Pansy Ewell

Madison James
I don't believe the Madison James buried at Mt. Olive in Dyer, TN is the one you are looking for. This Madison is buried by a Josephine James, plus Dyer is in Gibson County, TN, not Dyer County. Dyersburg is the county seat of Dyer County. This is often confusing to people who are not familiar with this part of the state. There are many James who settled around here..most are buried at Good Hope Cemetery in Gibson County, but I did now find the names you are seeking. If If I can help further, I will be glad to.

William Woodall
Hello David!
Thank you for going to all the trouble of checking on the Woodall burials. At least we know that William is buried there. I will leave a note on their memorials stating what the situation is.
If you're ever in that neck of the woods again, and you find out any more, please let me know. But, please don't go to any more trouble, if you don't have to.
Bless you for all your help!
