This memorial in California for Elizabeth Doolin (71290100) was created from Green Hills Memorial Park records. They provided the birth & death dates and burial plot. I have just requested a photo of her resting place. Our volunteers will likely provide a photo within a week.

No, there was no death date--that combined with the mention of her husband makes me think that perhaps this was a pre-need marker, so she may well be buried in California. In fact, since the California memorial shows plot number, I'm going to assume that was the case and delete the one in Vegas. I have found that the cemetery lists I have used have been quite accurate overall. In many cases there has been confusion caused by the wrong place being shown on the Death Certificate. But if someone dies in one state and is then listed in a cemetery in another state, it sure seems likely that the cemetery list would be correct.
Of course, sometimes bodies are exhumed and moved from one cemetery to another. That's the great thing about Find A Grave--family members with knowledge about people's lives and deaths can come along and add info, and even take over management of their relatives' pages.Added by RobMinteer57 on May 01, 2013 7:29 AM | |

Sounds like a good story to me.....the more I look into the records on the Doolin's the more confused I get. For example, take a look at John W. Doolin's Memorial. His wife according to the cemetery listing is Mary Luby Doolin. But every record I have found has John J. Doolin married to Mary Luby. So I am still unsure as to who exactly goes with who.

You might want to look again, when I made your correction to Chateaugay, Franklin Co, NY, the county finder said that there were 2 towns of that spelling. The second one is in Oswego Co, NY. Hi Jan Mary, Thanks for the info. I have added it to his memorial. I could not find a Chateagay, NY. Did find a town and county named Chautauqua. If that is not correct, please let me know. Do you know where his wife, Jane Linsey Sherman is buried? Don't find her in Oakwood Cemetery, Metamora, Woodford Co, IL. We can link them together if you have her location. Since Orlando is an ancestor, do you want me to transfer his memorial to you? I don't have a pic of his tombstone, so it must be one that I could not read or maybe the pic just did not turn out. I really need to go back and finish that project. My husband has been sick and in and out of the hospital for about 4 years now. Not sure who are direct family membersr but probable relatives. The distance and doing genealogy researh in a 7 county sres know the chances are good. The couple in the Clarinda Cemeter. He was a dr. Always worth a look, the museum I mention has almost everbodies obits also. Do you have any Davison or Davidson in your family, if you do you csn connect to just about ever fam ily in the area. 20 kids each with 2 wives (first 10 & second 10 )a bound genealogy. So if you are looking for obits contact the museum, see what they will charge you, let me know maybe I can do better.
