Jimmy Hagwood
Rev. Hagwood
The Rev. J.S. Hagwood buried at Social Plains Baptist church in Franklin County, North CArolina is my great-grandfather who was married to Jane Ellen Alford Hagwood. I have an updated photo of the grave-marker. He was born Januray 23. 1872 and died on November 17,1913. I was trying to find his parents and have not been able to track them down yet. Any ideas?

RE: Wakefield
Oh, that's great!!! I'd like all the Chamblee tombstones you have. I think there's only 2 posted to the site from the Wakefield cemetery and there's like 16 buried there. Much appreciated what you can send and/or add to the site.

RE: Confederate Ancestors
I just noticed that the memorial to William Wright does not include a photo. I would be happy to get it for you, but the location needs some clarification. At Oakwood, the graves are designated by Section or Division letter, row letter, and finally, grave number. From the information on the memorial, it looks like he is section/division D, grave #34 (or 32?), but the row letter is missing. Can you check the source of this information?

RE: Confederate Ancestors
Hello...and thank you for the greeting! Do you already have a photo of William Wright's marker at Oakwood?

It is a pleasure to "meet" you and if I can help you out with anything in the Richmond area, please let me know!

RE: Liles Edwards
There definitely are missing markers. Maria found at least one or two near or in the woods, as I recall. I started to make notes on the memorials of those for which she couldn't find markers, but I also hate to discourage anyone from looking. This is such an old cemetery, and markers have a way of sinking, being moved aside, etc. It's *possible* (albeit perhaps not overly likely) that a diligent search and probing could turn up some of the missing. (hope springs eternal, or something along those lines...!)

RE: Liles Edwards
Thanks so much, Preston. I hope you sent in a wider "cover" photo of the cemetery. Even though it's in sad shape, it's good to show the cemetery, as the markers themselves show nothing of the "setting." I'll be glad to try to help you with figuring out connections to others buried there, if I can. Maria and I had hoped to go when she got back from Cherokee, but unfortunately, the best laid plans of mice and women...

Preston, I think the map is right, but if you know Joyce Duke, contact her. She knows exactly, and will know whether (and from whom) permission might be needed.
