Tristan Hilliard
Huss/Husk Hill Cemetery
Barbara,

This is Tristan Hilliard from the South Carolina History Room at the Florence Library. I have a patron who is requesting to know the location of Huss/Husk Hill Cemetery near Pamplico, and your Find a Grave entry for Joseph S. Gibbs is literally the only source I can find mentioning this graveyard. Do you know its location? and if so, would you be willing to share it? You can write me back on here or at scroom@florencelibrary.org. Thanks in advance!

You are welcome. I am probably related to him somehow. Have John Cain of North Carolina in my line through his daughter Ann Cain.

Rev Thomas Gibson
Barbara,
I'm the one who stirred up this hornet's nest... :)
I'm not related, but one of his sons is buried just down from our home. The son was Rev William Gibson. I have also requested that Robert Hoyle Gibson be linked to his father, also. Do you know where Rev Gibson's other two wives are buried. I believe both may be in NC, but unsure. Thank you for your input. Sincerely, Fran

Hmm... my info came from a Gibson history handed down to my husband, who is related to them. Of course, that doesn't mean it's correct.

You can either e-mail it to us or post it to her memorial. Thank you.

Hello Roger!
Do you know any ancestors or decendants of this John Leach? Regards, Barbara #47240066

Not to my knowledge, but my family starts in the area at about the time of his birth, well 30 years prior. If you know of anything, please let me know.
Thanks
Don

RE: McPhersons
I am related to Boddie through my Scotts. The Scotts, Reardons, Witherspoons, Hannas, Friersons, and several others are the ones of my ancestors in the Williamsburg area. My McPhersons were in Fayetteville. They landed from Scotland in 1740 a bunch of them are buried at the MacPherson Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. My 3rd Gr Grandparents McPherson came to Florida as well as my 3rd Gr Grandfather Samuel Scott. So I can only got to SC on vacations and I have one coming up soon.

Barbara,
Williamsburg area has many many of my ancestors, including 2sets each of 4th 5th 6th Great Grandparents and a 7th Great Grandfather. I have worked so hard in that area trying to find them. I have not found where several of the Great Grandparents are buried but they had huge families and I have found the biggest part of them. So I am still searching. Should you need any of the ones you need just let me know and I will transfer them.

RE: Lucinda Trotter's site
You are very welcome. I have been wondering if maybe this was so, since the families are usually (of course not always) buried beside each other). Would be nice to "stumble" across some old paperwork, Bibles, etc. that would help in those instances.

RE: Hickory Springs Cemetery
Barbara--Thanks for taking the time to say, "thanks." I note that I have two Trotters among the graves I "manage"--Charlie and Maurice. Would u like me to transfer them over to you.

I have a Jones in my family tree too (Lord, doesn't everyone?) William Spencer Jones of Rowan Co., NC and Forsythe Co., GA, son of Hardy Jones of NC. Any connection with yours?

Jones family name
Looking at a family chart, I did find a Mazelphia Jones, married to a Charney Cale-they had a daughter name Mary Francis Cale who married a Wesley A. Overstreet, and then on down to my grandmother(a Durden). Could not find any Jones family on my grandfathers' side (Trotter).

RE: joseph trotter
You are welcome. You are better off exchanging the Trotter info with my mother, than with me. I have a copy of the Trotter family photo album, etc. that she has put together, but she would be able to give you the info from memory, rather than me looking it up in the book. You can reach her at jjvarn491@hotmail.com or jjvarn@mon-cre.net. She is also a contributor on this site (JT Varner). I will pass on your info to her.
