"FindaGrave has added a new editing function to all members. Check the 'Edit' tab on your profile page for pending edit requests for your memorials."

You currently have one or more such edit requests on your profile page. Most edit requests are no longer sent from FindaGrave with an email notice to the memorial creator/current manager. You have to go to your profile page and check the Edit tab to see the requests for additions or changes to your memorials.

Please check your profile page so that the requested edits can be processed. FindaGrave has made this change to facilitate rapid handling of multiple edit requests.

They are my great great great grandparents as well. You can link them to your other family. It is not necessary for me to transfer them.

RE: Nila Evelyn Henson
Hi Margaret,

The 1910, 1920 & 1930 census records in Van
Zandt County shows Nila is the daughter of Virgil & Fay G. Hensen. They are both buried in that same cemetery. I've made the links to her parents.

RE: James David Oliver
As stated in my prior message, I didn't intend to be disrespectful or quarrelsome. And I absolutely did not intend to chastise. I'm the last one in this community to dispense advice because I'm well past 70, have been a member for only a couple of years and use Find-a-Grave only sparingly.

I'm also not sure you exceeded Find-a-Grave guidelines. According to the FAQs, the system supports common alternatives to burial such as "cremation, lost or buried at sea, and donated to medical science." Cenotaphs or markers in a cemetery should simply be added with a "Note" as if the body were physically there. "You should never create a cemetery by the name "unknown" or any variant. Burials where the interment is unknown should be added using the 'Other' burial option, then 'recent death, location of body unknown'. Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days."

Because the burial site for James David OLIVER has never been found, no marker exists, and because he's not recently deceased, I referred to it as an imaginary cemetery with an imaginary grave. It just seemed bizarre, especially for this system of graves & markers. At the end, you certainly have not harmed or offended any living person because the paragraph you posted without attribution was written by my mother-in-law, a resident of heaven now for ten years. I'd encourage you to keep looking at and posting graves while simultaneously building your family tree with genealogy software, e.g., Family Tree Maker, Personal Ancestry File, et al. Regarding deletion of James David OLIVER, only you are authorized to delete it. It's your choice and nobody will be harmed or angry regardless of what you do with it. Just remember, you and my wife are related to James & Virginia and all the rest. You're probably 2nd cousins. Enjoy.

RE: Amanda Catherine Oliver
It's not my intent to appear disrespectful or quarrelsome but I'm surprised at your chutzpah. First, you've chosen to remain anonymous but have asked at least two of us to "give" our records over to your care. Secondly, you seem to have conjured an imaginary cemetery with no name, no location, no terrestrial graves, no gravestones and not a single cenotaph. Thirdly, unless I missed something, you've recorded your imaginary grave with another person's research and didn't cite the source. I'm pretty sure she'd be offended. I cannot imagine your rationale for creating such a record. Regarding James David OLIVER, many in this community have looked for his grave along with thousands of other souls lost in the Civil War. Their opinions and family stories are stated in dozens of places, including my files, but little documentation has been found.

If you created this record because you plan to use Find-a-Grave as a tool to document your family, I have some questions. First, do you plan to create an imaginary grave for everyone in your family whose graves you've not yet discovered? If so, what are your plans when these graves are found? Secondly, do you plan a separate cemetery for each undiscovered grave or do you plan one big cemetery for all of them? Thirdly, do you plan to ask everyone in this community to link their records to your imaginary graves? Will your cemetery have a name? Will it allow others to be "buried" there? Will you delete the record if you cannot find the grave within 30 days? Finally, do you have your family tree posted somewhere besides Find-a-Grave and if so, are you willing to share the URL? If so, I'd recommend you ask the community to link known graves to that research instead of imaginary graves. If not, I'd recommend you document your family tree with software designed for that purpose. I'd also recommend you post your research in a public place.

Obviously, I'm having trouble taking your request seriously. As a compromise, I'll agree to link James David OLIVER's descendants to his record on RootsWeb and any other place requested by credible members of the community. In the mean time, if you find his grave, let me know.

Re: Aaron Oliver
Hi again! :)

I think my SAC to you must have went to spam or something. I went back to the cemetery and got a better photo for Aaron, or at least better than what I posted 5 years ago. Now that I can read the stone, his death date should be changed to October 18, 1885.

Thanks in advance! :)

They are my great-great grandparents. All you need to do to link them to your other family members is to use the numbers assigned at the end of the person's information. I have linked fanily members throughout cemeteries in the county. I do not have a picture of Nancy's tombstone. I do not need to "give them " to you.

Hi there! :)

Just wanted to tell you that I intend to go back and get a better photo of Aaron's stone, if somebody doesn't beat me to it. If they do, good for them, and I will gladly delete the bad one I posted 5 years ago.

Thanks! :)

M/argaret I looked up William to confirm what I thought...I didn't add him to Find A Grave. You need to request a transfer from Colleen Sieker. She doesn't appear to be to very active. Hopefully she will respond to you.
I'm sorry but it appears that Molly is the only request I could assist you with.

I called Highland Memory Gardens to find the lot numbers of some of my relatives today and asked about your Victor Stonebraker. He is buried in the Tower Garden section, lot 23D, space #3. If I remember, the next time I go to the cemetery I will try and find the grave and take a picture for you.

RE: Wife of Harl Dean Hass
I went to the site and someone has added a photo of his headstone. I have decided to try to obtain a copy of the newspaper that the obituary was in and correct it if it's in error. Perhaps, Ginger was a nickname for his wife. I will check into this as soon as possible.

RE: Wife of Harl Dean Hass
I didn't keep a copy of the newspaper that this obituary came from. I no longer add the obituaries. Due to the error, I will delete it. I don't want anything on the site that is not accurate and since I no longer have it to check I'll take it off. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
