regarding Hampton photo requests
Hi, I am going down south and might have time to photograph Carlie Hampton and John Hampton graves. One problem is that Mulkeytown is a very large cemetery and I am very limited on time. Would they possibly be near other family that I can see if they are listed in my cemetery book?

Bob, thanks for the photos! They answer questions that we just couldn't get straight in this family. First - how do they spell their last name?

Thank you for the photos. That's a real jumpstart and I'll use it to confidently restart my engine in tracing this family's history.

Many thanks for your time, your effort, your art. :)

Gary Ross
RE: Ross
Hi;
My father-in-law Bob Ross (Missouri) is the son of Brady Bishop Ross & Blanche L. Raley. Brady's first wife was Rosa Gilligan I believe that was her last maiden name.
About Thomas Pink Ross have you found out who his parents were.
thank you
bobhampton
P.S. do you know where William Ross and his wife Della Cook are buried. Brady's father

Hello Bob

There is some contention as to the father of Thomas Pinkney Ross. I got the information from a book that was written by a late pastor at New Hope Methodist Church in Monroe, NC. In the book he says Pink's (who is my great grandfather) father was Ezekiel and his mother was Mary. The contention comes from Jim Beshires. He correctly says that according to his information, Ezekiel died in 1863 and Pink was born in 1869. If this is correct, Ekekiel could not be Pink's father. However, I do not know where Jim got the info about the year of Ezekiel's death and I do not know if Pink was actually born in 1869. I do know that back then many people were born at home and often years of birth and death are estimated.

I am not sure of Mary's maiden name either. I have not done much research but Jim tells me he has.

Who was William's father and mother?

Gary

RE: Brady Ross
I think he is there. There was one more fieldstone on the left marking a grave. I didn't include it in the picture, but thought about that as soon as I got home. I'll take another picture next time I go.
