Clarence Creighton Parents
Hello Walt. Thank you for submitting an edit for Clarence Creighton, Find A Grave Memorial# 162823128. I believe you have the correct father, but I'm having a hard time validating the mother. Susanna Frye Creighton would have been less than 18 at the time of Clarence's birth. In addition, the 1900 census claims she and John Wesley Creighton have only been married 8 years, not the 16+ required for Clarence to be her son. In addition, in 1900 Susanna says she is the mother of 2 children, one living, and the living child would be her son William Ralph Creighton.

Do you have further evidence to support Clarence's parentage? I will be fine adding his father but not his mother with the evidence currently present. I do not add family links to step parents, without explicit request from immediate family.

Many Thanks,
Beth Martin

nice to meet you, sort of. James Melvin Truax was my great-grandmother's brother. Her name is Bertha Polena Truax Davis. She and her sister married Davis brothers,Snowden W Davis and Jacob Frances Davis,Jr for Eva. Bertha is also buried in Oakwood # 57118725. Although the tombstone has her date of birth wrong.

RE: Iola Pierard
Hi Walt. Well things are getting interesting here. I really don't know too much about my Aunt Iola except what I passed to you before but I am interested----I don't know anything about the name Burns. Iola Carter Pierard, had a son named Henry. She was either a half sister or something to Eleanor Wyatt. Henry or Sonny as I knew him was about 12 years older than me, about the same as my brother (I came along late). I just always considered him my cousin didn't even know his last name was different from mine. Aunt Iola and Sonny were dark skinned--I didn't think about that difference either because my mothers parents were from Italy and they were a little dark as well. Sonny passed away several years ago and I his wife has also passed. I may have to see if I can locate any of their children-they are in California. Keep in touch. Have a wonderful weekend and take care. carol

Hi Walt. My Uncle Victor Pierard married Iola Carter. That was her married name and the maiden name was Peeck (not really sure of the spelling) Don't know of any other Iola Pierard's from Gillespie. My other aunts were, Reba, and Gertrude (aka Gertie) cb

RE: Sr. Mary Claver
Walt, I guess that makes us cousins at some point. My wife, Irene O'Donnell and I recently moved from So Cal to Phoenix. We are working on the Find a Grave and Ancestry sites with our son Brian and my brother Thomas. Currently we are trying to build the O'Donnell branch of the tree. Any suggestions? Also I have reached out to Angel Peck-Rodriguez regarding the Peck family, as my Grandmother Catherine worked for a Peck family in the 50's as a cook.

I am impressed with your work on this site. Please keep in touch. My e-mail address is mikepod727@yahoo.com.

Sr. Mary Claver
I found a public message on your bio regarding Sr. Mary Claver.

Sr. Mary Claver is my Grandmother's biological sister. Are you also related to Sr. Claver?

Hi Walt. I found his obit in the Springfield newspaper, dated 11-2-1954. It states he died 10-31-1954 in Enumclaw, Wash. and was buried in Buckley, Wash. Stated he was survived by his wife Mabel and three sons, Harold, Edwin and Gordon, all of Washington. Since Mabel is listed on this tombstone as having died in 1937, did he remarry another woman named Mable? In any case, I will delete his memorial in Oak Ridge since he is not buried there. If you want me to send you his obit, send me your e-mail though this memorial: 46383295. Thanks.

Sr. Mary Claver McLaughlin
Hi, Walt. The initials "IHM" behind Sr. Mary's name stand for "Immaculate Heart of Mary", and these same initials are behind the name of every sister of her order. That said, I have included her birth name as you requested, and also transferred her memorial to you since you are related. Thanks for contacting me, and take care.

OK...just wanted to make sure you had Adrian. That is great that you have lineage clear back to Germany for the Glaeser's. They are very lucky to have someone like you working on their ancestry. Have a great day.

RE: 141178896 Thomas Lee Glaeser
Walt...thanks for your answering me. I Have know all the Glaeser family for many years. I met Tom and Terry in the early 70's and their parents during that time too. It was a year or so later that I met Dick and Suzette. You mentioned turning over the Glaeser's to Terry and Jennie. They have not been married for many years. Both have since remarried and Jennie lost her husband last year. Terry married a lady by the name of Adrian.

Again thanks and I am glad someone is keeping up on their records.

Cary family
Walt, I just noticed on your family surname list that the Cary's are related to you and they seem to be in Illinois. However, a very old cemetery, Greenfield Presbyterian, which we are trying to restore) in LaGrange County, IN. It has an Andrew Cary and family buried in it, late 1830s. Andrew was an organizing elder at Lima Presbyterian Church in the village of Howe, IN, nearby. He left to become a organizing elder at Greenfield Presbyterian in the adjacent township. Miriam C.

Linn family
Hi Walt,
Sorry, but I don't know why I was researching the Linn line. It must have been on another site that tied into a DAR application I was working on for a new member. If you could give me some clue where you saw my post, maybe it would jog my memory. I don't remember anyone in MY family research with the Linn last name.

I will be happy to share info that I collected if I can connect where your info came from.

Yes, Wilbert Clark Land was Grandmother Pauline's first husband. They had four children, three boys and a daughter. If I can help in any other way I'll be happy to.

Ok, found a later funeral notice that stated she was buried in Oak Ridge. I think you best call or write Oak Ridge about this as they did not record her burial so it's up in the air which publication is correct.

Charlotte Creighton new listing
Hi Walt. Because I know all of the burials up through 1940 have already been added to Oak Ridge, I double-checked their records. They have no one by her name on their records. I then found her obituary and it stated she was to be buried in Bissell Cemetery in Sangamon County. Would you please move her listing to that cemetery? I can send you the obituary if you want. Send me your e-mail through the Edit tab on memorial 35952620 and then I will send it. Thanks.

You're very welcome. And by the way, I asked the member who added her photos to kindly rotate the photos but she didn't seem to know how to fix it. If you drop her a note, that might give her a nudge to try again. :) Happy 4th!
